I'm betting that climate change isn't one of your priorities then, but I can understand not liking winter.
Climate change is a priority, but my city isn't set up for being a non driver with a family. (Not really set up for being a non driver without a family either, but I couldn't imagine biking with kids on streets not even really great for adults to be on with a bike.)

I found a needle in a haystack!

Well, I found the my hijab magnet on the basement floor. (I use them to keep my dupattas put.)

My basement tends to look like a tornado hit it. I lost that magnet months ago. And there it was, right in the middle of the floor...

Where I live, it is not set up for pedestrians to any real extent. There needs to be a community-wide update of the infrastructure. But this is Middle America and ain't no one gonna tell us how to live.

Worse, at night, numerous people walk to the local convenience stores along the route I use to drive home. It is worse for two reasons. They have to walk along the edge of the street and not out of it and for some unknown reason, most of these walkers choose to wear dark and black clothes. I make certain to drive slower and be more aware, because these ninjas often suddenly appear out of no where without warning.

The other day, I was up and on the road before daylight. As I was approaching an intersection with stop lights, I saw a dark blur weaving back and forth in the oncoming lane, but going my direction. When I was close enough to see, it was a guy on a scooter heading to the convenience store. Dressed in black.

Since, they don't bother to watch out, I have to.

Last night it was a guy with four small children. I saw him (he had a light-colored shirt on) from far enough back to know he was there and as I got closer, "Holy crap, he has kids with him!". I didn't see the children immediately on seeing him. They were dressed in dark clothes.

I don't understand.

I'm not sure why folks do that. My only (reasonable) guess I could make is it was cold and simply the color of their coat and they didn't have another option.

It sounds like our areas are set up pretty similar.
