Was trying to do multiple things, and Ares is trying to run out the door.

I ask Sam to take him out.

"I worked all weekend." Well, I work around the clock.

I point out he can go outside and do exactly what he's doing in the chair. (Watching YouTube.)

He doesn't want to risk mosquito bite.

I told him I'd fetch him his Princess tiara.

Rub him down with vinegar, mozzies don't like it.
Or garlic ;-)

Excessive heat warning today until Thursday.

IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Overexposure to extreme heat can cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion to develop and, without intervention, can lead to heat stroke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Keep in mind you may need to adjust your plans based on the latest health and safety guidelines from CDC and your local officials. Cooling shelters may need to take your temperature or ask questions about how you are feeling.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

For a non-battle of the sexes win, the power is out for us. Fortunately it's only one leg of 220 so I ran an extension cord to a working outlet and voila - here I win again.

But some wins come with a loss. We smelled something nasty like electrical issues and it turned out that one UPS was HOT. It's now disconnected and won't be connected again.

Do you think perhaps the UPS has been drawing too much power and blown a fuse in the fuse box?
