If I stake, prune, fertilise, dust and water my tomatoes they get wilt and die. If they come up wild and I ignore them they thrive.
Don't fertilize them with dish detergent, because nobody likes soapy tomatoes. Just wash them after you pick them. That solves the whole problem.

I'm familiar. I had a really nice tomato that grew up on it's own. Better than if I planted it myself.
