The Logic of God

All I'm getting from you is a lack of belief...because you haven't seen a ghost.

Let's flip the coin.
You think life has an end.
Why do you think God set it in motion in the first place?
It was you who suggested you can make an argument FOR God

I've been seeing "ghosts" for as long as I can remember. My whole family does, and many of my friends have experienced them in my very "active" house. That doesn't prove God at all, maybe supports an afterlife. I have two much more acceptable ideas of what is going on though that require neither.

I, personally, do not think there is a God at all. But arguing for, I would have to say that the reason God created at all is to have something to teach / fill. If there is this conscious, infinite, all powerful, etc energy it would probably wish to share it's knowledge. So, it makes a lesser God to create the material world, makes angels, makes man and gives us the two paths which I spoke about earlier. So, the meaning of life would be knowledge / reconnection. And yes, if I believed in God I would be Gnostic.

I agree that this is the cornerstone .. assuming you actually understand the concept.

Understanding this concept does not change the fact that your foundation is build on the sands of logical fallacy.

On the topic of "do unto others" however .. are you for or against laws restricting abortion ?

Stay on topic.
You already assume too much of me.....
Take aim at God.

Now we're talking....and with your personal experience in play.
You have seen 'something' of a spiritual life.

We have hierarchy in this world.
There will be hierarchy in the next life.
If not, we each step up from our dead bodies into chaos.

6billion people will die within my life time.(make it seven if you care to)

That's a lot of spirit without guidance if no one is in control.

I would prefer to think that control, is in the hands of the Almighty.

LOL .. believe me .. I am not assuming much. Your ability to stay on topic is quite poor indeed .. you will do anything to avoid addressing questions that conflict with your beleifs.

Why would I take aim at God ? It is not Gods beliefs that are being questioned here.

You're getting closer....
it's about God and the way He thinks.

So far, I don't see much discussion in that direction.
So much 'say anything that takes God out of the picture'!

Maybe you could offer something about the way God thinks?
Something we know of God that makes sense to you?

you seem to be able to do that just fine...

your responses are entertaining to say the least...

as you were...

You do not know what God thinks so quit pretending you do.

My guess is that God understands logic and is intelligent.

Well if you understand logic....have you claimed as much?...
and God understands logic....you claim as much....
And if God is intelligent....you claim as much...

Then you have an understanding of the logic of God....

Still you seem to think I don't know what God thinks.

How do you know if God understands logic?.....

You DO KNOW what He thinks?

Or will intelligent guessing be sufficient?
If so...why deny me the same practice?

I have never clamed to know for sure what God thinks.

Which, unlike you, is why I preface my statements with "If" .. signifying that I do not know for sure.

I dont make matter of fact statments implying that I know what God thinks like you do,

such as: "its about God and the way he thinks".

You have seen 'something' of a spiritual life.

No, I've seen hallucinations, the mind playing tricks, being affected by unknown stimuli, perhaps even a glitch in time. Spiritual life? Never seen anything related.

We have hierarchy in this world.
There will be hierarchy in the next life.
If not, we each step up from our dead bodies into chaos.

You misunderstand death. There is no consciousness, it's hard to wrap our heads around because we literally cannot truly imagine it, as we are conscious. There is not order or chaos after death, the illusion of you fades away as the substances that make you return into the cycle of life.

6billion people will die within my life time.(make it seven if you care to)

Well the approximate world population is 7 billion...

That's a lot of spirit without guidance if no one is in control.

I would prefer to think that control, is in the hands of the Almighty.

And there is the issue, it does not matter what you'd prefer. Simply because you are bothered by the chaos does not make it ordered. Nobody is in control.

He's probably rather good at it.

First I suggest your lack of experience....you haven't seen a ghost...
Then you say you...and your family have done so....
Then you say...it was hallucinations.

I believe that's called that....dishonest.

(I don't really care how many people are living)
At a least 6billion will die within my life time.
3billion have already gone before me.
If I live to the age of my grandfather....3biliion more before me.

"If" no One is in charge it will be chaos.....for sure.

I don't think you're going to make it....not so sure.

You seem to be sure about it.
Apparently it doesn't matter what you prefer...either.

The topic is...Logic of God.

which is a silly topic...well, i think it is if one is to think any one can know it or figure it out..

if you notice, i apply our logic when it come to the idea of god...not god's logic.

No, it is getting caught up on definitions. I have seen what people call ghosts, but they are not wandering spirits as there is no spirit. I have seen them, and my family has seen them. I have no lack of experience with these "ghosts", quite the opposite. I have probably had more "ghostly" interactions in one day than you have in your whole life. So cut the ****.

The issue is that what we see as ghosts are hallucinations in most cases. They are one in the same. We imagine seeing something there, imagine interacting with things. Lay in a dark room long enough with insomnia and you will be completely surrounded by imaginary beings. Then there are the cases where something has obviously been seen, I don't deny that happens. But it does not prove a spirit exist. More likely it will be explained once we come to understand time and the other dimensions more. Just think of it as a glitch in the dimension(s) of time and space.

Yes, you clearly have no care for facts, I am aware. But can you support these seemingly random statistics you have provided?

"If" no One is in charge it will be chaos.....for sure.

Well I think that chaos is kind of an illusion. Even at the quantum level where we have uncertainty, I am sure that there is an order behind things that makes them work the way they do. They do this randomly, there is a difference between randomness and chaos. The fundamental whatever of reality acts in specific ways and does random things. Our universe coming into existence; that is a perfect example of something randomly happening because of the set way things act.

Finally you are beginning to understand the point.

If God is anything remotely resembling "all knowing"/ "omnipotent" or even has half a brain, then for sure he would have known beyond a shadow of a doubt that Adam and Eve would be no match for the serpent.

The "fall of man" was planned prior to creation.

I think I've said so...so many times here at the forum.

It was the only way to be sure the alteration took hold.

Give Man a choice.
Will he choose to know in spite of pending and dire consequence?

It's that kind of spirit that might be able to survive the last breath.

Entrapment is hardly a choice.

Entrapment is hardly a choice.

Well you can always tell your capture to screw off and face/risk the consequences of someone, something more powerful.

Not so hard to rebel against a threat you don't believe in any why. Faced with the reality of it, what's more important? Freewill or survival?

A king says show obedience and live or rebel and die. I suspect most would choose obedience because the cost of freewill is too high.

Me, I don't know. I suspect I would at least pretense obedience while always scheming to gain freewill.

The interesting aspect of the Genesis story is that God created a situation where humans would fail. (Innocent trusting humans with no knowledge of good or evil in a Garden with a great deceiver - in fact a lesser God with tremendous power)

This characterization of God is that of a Trickster which is in keeping with the Sumerian mythology of misbehaving Gods.

What is strange about the story is that God would be upset with the humans for doing exactly as God planned.

This is like a computer program getting upset when that program does exactly as it is supposed to do.

God is then cast as both irrational and a trickster.
