The Most Agreeable Religion

Most of the scholarly works of Islam that I know of are either not in English or outside of my affordability given that I am a humble gas meter reader, however I have read the Quran (the theological work of Muhammad) and found it to contain enough nonsense to realise I would be wasting my time delving too deeply.

Yeah. But that is just trying to attack me because I am a Muslim. I asked you about Buddhism and Secular Humanism etc. Not about Islam. So, good try at a dirty trick. Won't work.

Only to understand the practitioners you do not have direct experience of.

Of course if you have direct experience of someone who is a total buttocks head so lacking in humility as to dismiss your direct personal experience with a rant such as;

Nah. Thats not enough. Its called the anecdotal fallacy. So, its still invalid. I think you are just trying to spread some hatred and enjoy your day. Try to good historical research on everything you make any kind of big assertions about. Because its obviously false otherwise. If you try, you can understand that simple decent fundamental.

No it doesn't, showing what the dogmas of those religions are then showing how they stack up against the dogmas of Islam would show I haven't done any research, but so far you've failed to make your case.

Try to show research to the asked question about the claim you made rather than creating red herrings. Maybe if you have some substance, you can.

Oh if you want, with a bit of humility you can ask.
Or you could take the opportune moment to demonstrate the profound knowledge you allegedly have.

Yeah but you see, you have no knowledge about any of these things. Just biases. Biases is not research. Hope you understand.
Again you are simply making assertions about your knowledge compared to others and completely failing to demonstrate it.

In my opinion.

Islam is an idea, not a person. Ah the irony of claiming personal attack and then claiming someone else is up to cheap tricks.

Your actions do not tell me about other Muslims, but they do tell me about *you*, directly quoting you in context is not an anecdote.

Red herring: 'a clue or piece of information which is or is intended to be misleading or distracting.' (Courtesy of Oxford languages).

Your question was;
Why do you think they are free from "anticompetitive traits" and the "least dogmatic"? Do you have any historical research?

So considering them as least dogmatic is a relative term which implies comparison to other religions. Since I'm doubtful you were taking me to task for considering them less dogmatic than polytheistic and other religion it was of no relevance to you personally to go and list all the religions, what was directly relevant was to compare it to Islam since that is what you most likely were taking me to task for comparatively claiming.

Therefore it is clear that it was of direct relevance to bring up Islam, and not a red herring

In my opinion

Thanks for all of that.

Whats the research.?

Many religions did many things. Yet, this is not good enough. To make such claim, there has to historical research.

Hope you understand.

I understand very well that many Islamic countries restrict, discriminate, persecute, conversion and often forbid conversion and membership under penalty of death of some religions such as the Baha'i Faith. Other religions like Christianity, Judaism, ethic regional religions and divisions of Islam. No 'red herrings' the following references the research on the subject:

See: Religious Persecution Rising: Islam Threatens Religious Minorities, Especially In Middle East

I will acknowledge that Muslims are discriminated against, persecuted, and marginalized in Western countries, but that is part of my objection to ancient tribal religions, like Islam, Christianity and Islam that cannot be considered an 'agreeable' universal religion taking into consideration all the diverse religions of humanity.

Thanks for all the Islam expose. But still, the subject opened by Daniel that I am addressing is "Buddhism and Secular Humanism", not "Why Islam is bad" or anything like that. So it needs research.

If you wish to bash Islam, maybe open a new thread for that subject rather than try to drag participants in this thread onto that subject.

Hope you understand.

the question I asked was about the claim on Secular Humanism and Buddhism as "religions". So I would like to divert @shunyadragon & @danieldemol to another thread that is an avenue to discuss Islam.

I hate Islam.

Cheers.

You may as well have named the thread "I beat my wife" lol.

Its a loaded thread title and your projection of hate just comes across as an attempt to silence dissent by labelling it as "hate".

In my opinion.

You mean "I beat my wife lol" or just "I beat my wife"? Yet, I dont like that name because it is only one of your hate spreading memes. I wanted to have an umbrella.

Its a loaded thread title and your projection of hate just comes across as an attempt to silence dissent by labelling it as "hate".

Thanks. But I think it is very appropriate to you because I have been asking about Buddhism but you have repeatedly and consistently brought out hate against Islam as your escape meme in your posts without addressing anything asked about these religions you yourself mentioned.

I meant what I said and I said the latter, although both are examples of loaded titles that are approximately equivalently loaded to the thread title you chose.

Yet, I dont like that name because it is only one of your hate spreading memes.
Your accusations of hate won't silence me just so you know.

Buddhism as compared to what? It is exhausting (not to mention unnecessary) to compare it to all religions, if you think there is a religion that is less anticompetitive and less dogmatic then set it forward for comparison.

Until you do that we have nothing to debate as I see it.

In my opinion.

If you wish to bash Islam, maybe open a new thread for that subject rather than try to drag participants in this thread onto that subject.

Hope you understand.
"Bashing" Islam is perfectly OK in this thread as long as it helps to answer the question whether Islam is an agreeable religion.

(Hint: You haven't done a good job in that regard until now. I suggest being more agreeable if you want to defend Islam as agreeable.)

Thats not the question. So bashing islam is just a tactic by someone who made some random comments and cannot provide any research for it.

I dont intend to. Thanks for your commentary without knowing the context of discussions. It is a pretty normal thing these days.

Then what are you doing here? Then it is you, who is hopelessly off topic.

What am I doing here? Please make a complaint to the Admins and tell them to take me off because "you dont like me being here". I am not here to impose Islam and how great it is in every single thread. If you think that others have to be like you trying to impose their belief system in every thread, you are very sadly mistaken and you have no right to ask that question.

If you can answer the question I asked from the relevant person, try and answer it. He said that Secular Humanism and Buddhism are "RELIGIONS" and they are the most "agreeable religions" in response to the topic. SO I asked him "based on what research". He has not given any answer but to respond with anti islamic rhetoric alone. That is a red herring response.

If you try hard, you may understand that I dont have to prove anything. The claimant does.

Skanky Old Mongrel!
The world has to unite. There can only be one religion. You are locked in with religious people from all faiths and denominations and you're not allowed to leave before you agreed on The One Religion™.
(Well, you can leave early if you agree to accept the result the others will settle on.)

What religion do you favour?

What do you think, which religion will make it?

Nature! I vote for Nature! :)
Nature is already the boss, the resident representative of Big-G.
When Nature calls we have to follow.
There will always be trouble and strife if humans are around, and so Nature is left to sort everything out. Look at us just now.... Nature is telling us to change our dirty ways or we will be toast. But Nature will go on.....forever.

Please look up post #1 where the topic was set (and maybe notice who posted that).

Actually I presented a factual post and reference, which included a research reference in response to the posts in the thread, which documents the historical problems and today of the ancient tribal religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and not bashing Islam.

The post is relevant to the subject of the thread in terms of which religion is most 'agreeable' and universal for humanity. Buddhism and secular humanism indeed are more 'agreeable' and lack the violent aggressive history of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

The post and reference stands without a coherent response.
