Why? Lots of folks aren't searching for any truth. They just merrily go along.

Everyone has to find their own truth.
Because God made it so you have to seek the truth. Even without a god that would be how it works. The truth doesn't come to you, you don't accidentally find it. You have to seek the truth. It can be found it your honest with yourself, open to all ideas and patient.

Sorry, had to post this, after having just had a rant in another thread...
To everyone who has a religious belief that the hold to be "the Truth," or "the only way to salvation," I want to ask this one simple question:
What the hell do you think you know that everybody else doesn't? How can you be so blindly stupid as to imagine for yourself a God that could make his truth known to you -- but was utterly powerless to make it known to everybody else?
So you are saying that you DO have privileged access to the mind and thoughts of God? Access that God deliberately denies to others (in fact, the vast majority of all others)?I believe the concept is that one would not put a gun in the hands of a child. God has found me trustworthy so He has no problem speaking to me. I would not speak to you because you are unbelieving and bellligerent.
There are just too many holes in religion.

Apparently, it's a bit harder than that. Millions upon millions of people have been trying that for 2000 years, and the result has been war, death, torture -- and more religions that it's easy to count!Great News, I have your answer! The Bible is clear to point out that when we start to learn we are like infants taking in only milk. As our study and searching continues, we are than fed with the bead and the meat of the Word. The truths in the Bible are available to ANYONE who searches diligently for them, with an open mind. There are many tools that will help with those who search. It states in the Bible that if you search for Me with your whole heart, you will find Me. The Holy Spirit is a wonderful tutor that can and will help also.

Yes, actually, I do know what "Omnipotent" means. And that -- coupled with my reason -- qualifies me to declare the Bible is not "true" in the sense that you mean it.
I believe there are many people willing to follow someone who claims to hear from God but often those people are also easily duped into following the false ones like Jim Jones and Sun Moon.
I am one of the few chosen to know the truth.
I am better....I am special.
Are you familiar with the fundamental attribution error?
I believe I should thank you for having such a low opinion of me. But are you sure which side of the looking glass you are on?

Just follow my advice.Tell us more your holiness!
How DO we make the world a better place?
There can be some pure truth, unfortunately we cannot know exactly what it is and it lies somewhere independent of any of us,
so there is no one person's "truth" especially if it violates the law of non-contradiction by differing from another person's "truth."
Yes, I'm familiar -- as well as being familiar with the fact that it is substantially disputed.@Evangelicalhumanist
This was not a rhetorical question, by the way.
