The Problem with "Fighting" Homosexuality

Yes, I do post truths of scripture.
No, you post your interpretation of scripture.
And why do you feel that you are some forum police anyway. Who are you? You are the complete opposite of humble. Haughty in the words of the Bible.
I'm not the forum police. Why do you ask? Feeling guilty about something, Hmm?
You are the complete opposite of humble. Haughty in the words of the Bible.
I don't notice that Jesus was so humble when he kicked butt in the temple...
I am not trying to save you, you are beyond that, or so it appears by your attitude about God, His word, and His messages for us.
As I said: You're not qualified, and you don't know me.
Stop being so self important and self righteous
Right back at ya.
stop being so obsessed with attacking me
I'm not attacking you -- just your poorly-grounded ideas.
please, find something else to do.
I've been here, getting along with people for 9 years. It's doubtful I'm going anywhere.
Since you are deserving of NOTHING other than being totally ignored, you are going on my ignore list.
That won't stop me from seeing your posts and responding to them as I see fit. It only keeps you from seeing mine.

What it takes to discern the true meaning of each scripture, is an honest heart, so that God uses holy spirit to unveil Satan's obfuscation of the truth, and it requires also comparing each scripture to each other scripture. If any scripture is in complete harmony, you have arrived at the true meaning. If it appears to conflict, you have not.
...because nothing worth gaining should ever, ever be <gasp!> difficult!! We shouldn't wrestle with meaning. We shouldn't doubt. We shouldn't discern. Just close our eyes, get all warm and fuzzy, and follow those who haven't bothered to unpack the texts.

my understanding is that we are to treat other folks with same respect and courtesy which I would like to be treated with. I'm happy to be responsible for my actions, but to leave the judgement of others to God.

People should be treated equally regardless of their gender or sexual preference. Is that wrong?
No, but that doesn't in itself grant us forgiveness or righteousness. Faith without works is dead, says several scriptures. Works alone means little, without faith. Faith in God, His ACCURATE inspired words, and the sacrifice of His son, Jesus.

Yes, but as soon as you start treating MikeSavage like he treats others, he ignores you.

You have access to that information. It's called the Bible. God requires doing His will, to inherit the Kingdom of the Heavens, on Earth. His will is clearly spelled out throughout the scriptures. Arguing with Him makes you His enemy. Turning your back on Him makes you His enemy. That means no Kingdom for you. No eternal life in a paradise Earth, no blessings, nothing, just the life you have now, and then nothing more. Ever.
I don't play well with tyrants who demand you do their bidding.

Nope. Not wrong.

Faith in God, His ACCURATE inspired words,
...because ancient writers were oh-so-picayune about accuracy. There are so many discrepancies between copies of ancient texts, it's patently obvious that the writers were more concerned with jist than with pinpoint accuracy. They were telling stories, not writing news reports or textbooks.

There are always a heavy supply of threads on religious type forums regarding homosexuality especially when debating the fact that it is wrong or against wrong or whatever.

What I notice the most in these discussions and debates is when outspoken conservative christians come out with what they call the truth about homosexuality, they are quite hateful towards the sexuality. This could be understandable if it ended there but it doesnt. There seems to be this irrational fear or hate towards the person with the sexuality. Is this what it means to follow jesus?

In my opinon, if these people truly cared about us and saw us as equal human beings they would do the obligatory mention that it is a sin and we may burn or whatever but it would end there. They wouldnt then disown, humiliate, embarass, bash, harass etc said person.

I think it's basically a matter of turning focus away from themselves and things they fear about themselves -avoiding guilt or shame which they have been taught to feel.

I liken it to a drowning person whose fear causes them to panic and use those nearby as a means to stay afloat -even their rescuer -potentially causing them to drown.
I think it's the exact same basic fear.

Some guy may have seen a penis and liked it -came to hate that about himself -projected that onto gays... because it's much more pleasant to hate something external.

Or... if someone has never had any sort of homosexual thought or experience.... thinks themselves to be right/without flaw by comparing themselves to another they view as flawed, as a means of avoiding the flaws they know exist in themselves....

People do not like to honestly examine themselves for flaws or errors, but project those things onto others and cause them to do what they hate to do themselves.

In disowning, bashing, humiliating, etc... one is essentially saying another is flawed -and forcing them to see themselves as flawed -even if they are not.

It is not only done to homosexuals -it's pretty much universal.

If there is a point to be made about anything anyone sees as wrong, it should be made out of concern and with respect, if it is any of their business in the first place -and that really should be the end of it unless it directly affects them adversely.

I'm pretty sure that Jesus practiced secret Tantric sex rituals (especially Left-Hand-Path homosexual ones with Judas) which he picked up in his mysterious years of wandering in the far East. (?) Or so my Initiatory Degrees I've received seem to indicate such as Jesus was the original lineage holder of these. (?)

Oh well.

This is from the controversial Secret Gospel of Mark:

"And they come into Bethany. And a certain woman whose brother had died was there. And, coming, she prostrated herself before Jesus and says to him, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me.’ But the disciples rebuked her. And Jesus, being angered, went off with her into the garden where the tomb was, and straightway a great cry was heard from the tomb. And going near Jesus rolled away the stone from the door of the tomb. And straightway, going in where the youth was, he stretched forth his hand and raised him, seizing his hand. But the youth, looking upon him, loved him and began to beseech him that he might be with him. And going out of the tomb they came into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days Jesus told him what to do and in the evening the youth comes to him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the kingdom of God. And thence, arising, he returned to the other side of the Jordan.”

It is not yet final whether this is the real thing or a forgery or (both) but there are other evidences that the early Christians and Gnostic Christians practiced a form of sacred homosexuality that was related to secret doctrines of Jesus (or whoever a possibly historical Jesus figure was based upon). More on this evidence later.

I have been considering the following in reference to excessive, unnecessary, misplaced or displaced guilt / shame / self-hatred about any matter.......

2Co 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
2Co 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Godly sorrow is realizing one is not doing something correctly -and choosing to do differently.

Worldly sorrow is the sort that is self-deprecating, self-defeating, self-destructive and leads to more wrongdoing against self and others.

Rather than causing others to be in fear, people should heed the following advice, allow others to do the same if they choose -and be of help to all regardless.....

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
