I know people who have seen one. So far as I know, they are harmless creatures. Don't bother them though.

Your dog must be cautious and careful, or else the feeling he rules the couch will be illusory and short lived as the cat plans revenge and to retake the couch. Tomorrow could be the day your dog is savagely ambushed.
You can tell when a cat is plotting.

Reminds me when my ex and I got a cat. She had never had any pets before, and she wondered why I would yell at the cat and tell her not to do whatever it was she was about to do. She thought I was being absurd at first when I told her you can tell when a cat is about to do something. But it wasn't long before she admitted cats give themselves away when they are plotting something, and it's pretty easy to notice that "plotting something" look.
