It was 33 this AM out here and to us this is really really cold. I know you'll all feel sorry for us having to put up with such terrible circumstances.

Ummm...nope...not feeling sorry for you at all...... it is currently 20 here and windy and I keep thinking come February I will be thinking this is warm.

I came to CA from upper New York state where the temps got seriously below zero and starting cars in the winter was an adventure. I don't miss it.

How far upper...fake upper that most refer to as upper...or REAL upper where only the tough and manly survive...you know...where I live...

I haven't started drinking yet either.

Btw, at the Airbnb house in SF where I stayed, they supplied many things,
but I was most impressed with real maple syrup & 10 year old single malt
Macallan scotch (over $50/bottle!).

My alcohol problem is drinking it too slowly.
I actually have beer go bad...sometimes to
the point that even I can't tolerate it.
No kidding! Just today, I found a half drunk can of spiked cider in the frig and most people would have just thrown it out, but I sampled it and it wasn't drinkable, so I didn't. I threw it out!
