Some movies do, eg, Avatar, Aliens.
I consider Ridley Scott films to be Ridley Scott films. His movies are often too good to be lumped in with Hollywood rubbish, especially Alien where Hans Reudi Giger graced and blessed the movie world with his amazing and fascinating creations from the depths of his immaculate mind.

Avatar was good but not particularly memorable
It was one of those astoundingly great movies which I only needed to watch once.
But a much smaller movie like Gattaca I can watch again & again.
A compelling story is more enduring than special effects.

Nice music on Gattaca too.

Ridley Scott is my favourite director.

Aye, I remember it.
But the music from Avatar (by Michael Nyman)....haven't a clue what it was.
Oddly, Avatar is considered a wild success, but Gattaca a "flop".
The latter is in my top 10 list. The former, while great, isn't even in my top 20.

More music (by Danny Elfman) from Pee Wee's Big Adventure....also better than Avatar.
