Received our new computer this morning. The heat has made setting it up a bit more of a chore than it should have been
My oh my, has technology advanced since our smoking one was a baby. The mother board is about the same size (with apparently nothing on it but some connectors) but everything else is micro, the hdd is twice the capacity and about half the size of a playing card (and not much thicker.
No linux, it boots directly to win 10, the old one ran it in wine. Its much quicker.
Its amazing how many passwords we have forgotten

Happens a lot here with *fixer uppers*. Trees on roofs, trees growing from the ground floor and up through the roof or out of windows, lots of undergrowth completely covering the building. Ain't nature wonderful?
When Win98 files become corrupt, I don't know how to delete them.

This is one idea. Copy the entire drive to another drive. Then reformat the drive and scan for corrupt sectors during the format.
There are also data recovery programs that might get rid of the files for you and locate where all the corrupt little parts are.

Try command prompt, navigate to the folder use del /f filename.
Make sure the filename is right because getting a mistake back is difficult and required you editing the fat
