One of my hero's, a brilliant man. His work helped shorten WW2 by at least 2 years

There should be a prominent statue of him in London rather than a small park in Manchester.

He was treated abysmally by the british government.
We should have statues of him everywhere. He's basically as important as Tesla in shaping our modern world and making it possible.

I once heard on the radio a story. I can't confirm or deny the accuracy of it. But that there once was a man monitoring Russia for missile attacks. They saw something that looked like missiles coming from America. So the top officials wanted to nuke America in response. This guy risked his reputation to tell them to hold back. And it turned out to be a false alarm. It wasn't missiles. Was probably just birds or some such.

I'm trying not to stress, getting my income back up to what it was pre-covid is looking difficult. Anything under $20, which I've had a hard time finding, and I'm settling for less money for something soul destroying.

Well, it looks like a storm is coming: Powerhouse storm system to pummel southern Plains with snow, ice

After pummeling portions of the northern Rockies and the Plains with heavy snow, the storm system responsible for the wintry weather will begin to spread cold and snowy conditions to areas farther south that are not as accustomed to seeing flakes fly so early in the season.

Before the arrival of snow and ice across the southern Plains, snowflakes will fly across much of Colorado and the central Plains during the day on Sunday. In the wake of another difficult day of firefighting across northern Colorado on Saturday, heavy snow should largely help out firefighters and their ongoing efforts to extinguish the East Troublesome and Cameron Peak fires.

At least it will help put out the fires in Colorado. So, that's a plus.

Just last year, Amarillo observed their biggest ever October snowfall on record, tallying up nearly a half of a foot of snowfall, and while those snowfall totals are not expected with this storm in the city itself, portions of the northern panhandle have a shot at picking up some impressive totals.

In addition to the threat for accumulating snowfall, there will also be an icy element to the storm system across the southern Plains early this week. A significant ice storm could be in the offing for portions of the southern Plains.

Thought we might get some rain here in AZ, but maybe not. But it looks like some rough weather in the affected states.

I am finding many independent contractor work at home jobs.
They pay significantly less than I'm used to.
