No, I'm saying more people would be sick and dead if we did that. But we have less because at least some people give a damn.

I'm confused :D - I was just saying that we're lucky there's not more deaths with the modern day GOP and their ways and the amount of power and control they have. I support things like Biden shutting down the country to handle the pandemic.

Me too, along with an order for strict mask compliance, limited capacity and distancing, and the tests and tracing Trump failed with.

I think I need to play more video games as some of them do have puzzles of sorts requiring recognizing patterns and thinking in a structured way. And I also like games that allow you to travel, like open-world games, because traveling isn't something I can bring myself to do very much in this pandemic.

I was trying to spend less time playing video games. But the truth is they have always kept my mind sharper, especially these days when foggier thinking for me happens more often.

Video games, with the exception of online games, also provide an avenue for you to express yourself through your character, whether being a jerk or a saint, and it doesn't affect other people.

I ask this family of three who gets right next to me in line to back up. They take a half assed half step back. So I shoot back "could you back more? Ya know, the whole six feet thing?" Especially as their little diseased ridden meatbag was unmasked.
They seemed shocked and almost like they had a hard time comprehending that.

I should raise a fuss that Netflix does too much with the Norse and Germanic paganism.
I wanna see a show about the Briton Celts and them fighting the Romans and the Angles and Saxons, amd the English amd the Normans, and the Irish and Scottish. (Uhtred woild have aged slow enough to fight over such a massive span of time)

His unconstitutional taking of such powerful authority
over us all would be a cure worse than the disease.
Always remember that if government has some great
power to do good for us, that power can also be used
against us.
Imagine if Trump were able to command the
comings & goings of everyone in the country.
Ew.
I prefer that the states act independently.

The way I understood Dems supporting "big government" is that they want the government itself to be big, something I might support, but for the President to have no more power than Trump. I actually expect Biden to try to wield less power than Trump, and while it says nothing about what other people are going to do in government, limiting the power of a single person and distributing power seems to be something that *I think* our forefathers would mostly support.

Tis about more than size.
Also about the extent of control over us, eg, more economic regulation,
speech regulation, environmental regulation, housing regulation.

You aren't one of those people scared that any government that isn't your own brand of authoritarianism will take your guns away, are you? ;)

In any case, Biden isn't much further left than Trump.

I mean, you identify as a libertarian, I get it. But if you previously supported Trump at one point, I don't get the caution of a Biden administration.
I never supported Trump.
I did vote for him in 2016, but only as the lesser of 2 great evils.

Analogy time....
Suppose government says it will cut off your right arm or
left arm, & you get to choose between these alternatives.
You pick your left arm.
Does this mean you support cutting off left arms?
Of course not.
You picked the least bad of 2 awful choices.

Now, back to the caution about Biden exercising the power
to shut down the economy. That's not bad just because
Biden or Trump would have too much power....it's cuz any
President would have too much power over us.

I see. Don't worry I understand :)

Analogy time though... suppose it's a mild Sunday and there is someone with a Scottish accent and the smell of bacon reading their Sunday paper. And that paper looks mighty tasty. Do you take a swipe for it, even knowing the Scott could very well weaponize said reading material?

I don't swipe anyone's newspapers....especially Mrs Revolt's WSJ.
Only after she's done, & gives it to me does it light fires or compost in the garden.
