You folks under the influence of the metric system don't even know what a jug is......us clear thinking imperial system folks have to tell you everything

a measuring cup

A measuring cup for easily offended Americans they way that poor measuring cup of good quality was forced into disgraceful disfigurement with those abominable Imperial units and the proper Metric units forced to be turned away and be behind.

The road signs along I-19 to Mexico used to be in metric - except for the speed limit signs. I guess they didn't want to take any chances on that.

They stopped doing that a few years ago.

But how many feet is that? How many inches? How many yards?
It's almost like it was invented by a drunken sailor.
BUT, 384,400 km is very easy to convert to meters or centimeters or hectometer. Done like that. *snaps*
Kneel before your true math overlord!:smilingimp:

Well considering there is 5280 feet in the mile, the math is easy
since there are 12 inches in a foot...the math is easy
And since there are 3 feet in a yard....the math is easy

so basically, what you are saying is those that use the metric system are not capable of doing simple math....again....very very sad

Simplicity is a rule and law of math. Simplify things. Thus the Imperials have got to because 10s are infinitely easier.
And you know it in your heart, you know this to be true, the conversions in metrics are way easier to do in your head in metrics than they are with Imperials. With metrics you just move a decimal around depending on the number of digits. You don't even have to do any multiplication or division. Here is it is proven Imperials is the maths for those who believe in working harder, not smarter.

All joking aside, I think most Americans have had at least enough exposure to the metric system that it really shouldn't be that much of a shock to change over.

Are individual states allowed to switch over to metric on their own? Or does it require an act of Congress?

California man cited after using mannequin for carpool lane (apnews.com)

3000.jpeg

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California driver who said he had used a mannequin as his passenger for at least a year and a half in order to access carpool lanes has been cited and faces a fine of at least $400.

The mannequin — adorned with gray hair, wrinkles, glasses, a Cleveland Indians baseball hat and a face mask — sat in the passenger seat of the driver’s Toyota Tacoma when he was pulled over on Feb. 19.

Officer S. Sullinger was patrolling the eastbound 210 freeway in Glendora in search of carpool violators.

The officer noticed the front passenger in the Toyota was suspicious and that the vehicle had tinted windows on its front passenger side, which is illegal.

Sullinger realized the passenger was fake when the driver rolled down his window.

“The driver didn’t say much,” California Highway Patrol Officer Rodrigo Jimenez said to the Los Angeles Daily News on Friday. “Other than that he’s been driving with the mannequin and he’d been getting away with it for a year and a half.”

The driver was cited for the carpool infraction but the mannequin was not confiscated. There is no additional punishment for trying to dupe officers by placing a mannequin in the passenger seat, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.

Drivers will attempt to use mannequins, a bundle of blankets or even a small doll to make it look like another person is in the vehicle, Jimenez said.

This mannequin, though, was the most realistic attempt at carpool lane deception Jimenez and Sullinger said they had seen.

“I thought I’d seen them all, but I guess not,” Jimenez said. “This is something that’s straight out of the log ride at Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland.”

I remember a guy who would wear a gorilla mask to avoid his face being photographed when getting caught by the speed cameras.

Exploding tomato...

Just eaten lunch with my dearly beloved hubby. Bread, cheese, lettuce, olives, and exploding tomatoes.

Small tomatoes, served whole. Hubby picked one up, bit onto it, a jet of juice and seeds exploded across the table and hit me square in my glasses.

How much fun is that, he hasn't stopped laughing yet.

Three, the bible tells us its 3...
And its a Greek number (metric) not an imperial number

View attachment 48209

I'm not representing 3...I was just showing the inadequacy of the base 10 metric system....you see...the metric system has dulled your mind...and as previously established....weaked your simple math skills..

Now if you don't mind...time for some pie

The thing is with pi is that its an irrational number, so it seems you are quite happy with irrational imperial weights and measures just so long as you have 100 cents to the dollar, a full 75 centilitres in a bottle of wine and 9 millimetre bullets.
