What's the thing with cups? My cups are different sizes

It's one of the many illegitimate children of the Imperials, a unit of measuring liquids. Cup, pint, quart, half gallon, and gallon.

So how about if you are measuring sugar, its heavier for the same volume
How about wholemeal flour, full grain flour, type 65 or type 55?

225 grams is 225 grams no matter what you are measuring

225 grams is 225 grams no matter what you are measuring

Yup. 225 grams of brown sugar, or 1/4 cup of brown sugar? Well, that 1/4 cup assumes you know how to measure it properly. The same with flour. Weight is so much more accurate.

That was not a diagram that was just a bunch of cups...sheesh...do you see how the metric system has twisted your thinking...you're the one that said you had one cup bigger than the others so I assumed you were talking about coffee cups...so I posted different size coffee cups

We also have tablespoons and teaspoons. Amd it's gnarly and wrong. If you don't know which one is Ts and which one is ts you might end up with way too little or far too much of something.
