It's one of the many illegitimate children of the Imperials, a unit of measuring liquids. Cup, pint, quart, half gallon, and gallon. What's the thing with cups? My cups are different sizes

Imperials...like the Imperial legions of Rome. Nah. I'll pass. Imperials promise great things but bring oppression and the sword.
I'll stick to the simply promise of simplicity offered by the Metrics.
And I will still taunt you English kuuuh-nigits for thinking the Irish and Scots would go into peacefully and live in it peacefully.Yeah, you were part of the british empire
No, 1 cup of flour is 8oz...2 cups is 16oz.....3 cups is 24oz....see how easy that is......no need for all this grams, lites and meters stuff......a simple cup that is all
If Imperials were a human I would impale it in the name of Vlad the Impaler.I realize you are to far gone and there is, sadly, no bringing you back to the right side f this now...but I feel I must keep trying.....I'm only thinking of what is best for you...whether you agree or not.....you really need to allow those that know what is best for you to rise up and protect you from yourself
And I will still taunt you English kuuuh-nigits for thinking the Irish and Scots would go into peacefully and live in it peacefully.
And then you sent your outcasts, loonies, nuts, and criminals to the New World and then wonder what may have happened to prompt someone turning his signature into a big middle finger for the King.
Yup. 225 grams of brown sugar, or 1/4 cup of brown sugar? Well, that 1/4 cup assumes you know how to measure it properly. The same with flour. Weight is so much more accurate. Not according to your digigram
So how about if you are measuring sugar, its heavier for the same volume
How about wholemeal flour, full grain flour, type 65 or type 55?
225 grams is 225 grams no matter what you are measuring

And lastly
That was not a diagram that was just a bunch of cups...sheesh...do you see how the metric system has twisted your thinking...you're the one that said you had one cup bigger than the others so I assumed you were talking about coffee cups...so I posted different size coffee cups
These are REAL measuring cups
We also have tablespoons and teaspoons. Amd it's gnarly and wrong. If you don't know which one is Ts and which one is ts you might end up with way too little or far too much of something.Ahh ha, its an americanism, its not cups at all but glass jugs with measurements on the side that says cups.
Damn, if i say i am the cleverest, most beautiful person im the world that doesn't make it so
Using German Metric rocket technology.you traveled 384,400 km to get there
Good point. I never really noticed that.

But how many feet is that? How many inches? How many yards? But we didn't...we traveled 238,900 miles to get there....
