Yeah, but no Hugo Weaving or Laurence Fishburne. But somehow Neo and Trinity live on.
Personally, I don't know how she can do (only one of them is directing four) without the iconic rivalry that is Neo and Agent Smith. It's already ruined a a bit with no "Mr. Anderson" coming from the right voice.
And I totally reject the idea the Matrix is about being trans. I've never gotten that before, I've never seen or felt that before, and Lana just recently said it is so I have to wonder.
However, Switch was supposed to be trans, but WB (which stands for Wanker *****es) wouldn't have it, so Switch was made into a regular female rather than a male in the real world but having a self projected image of being female in the Matrix (and thus the name Switch).

Well, perhaps they could combine the Matrix with Bill and Ted.

I remember many years ago, I browsed through some sites and message boards where people would relate their own particular interpretations or wonder about certain aspects of The Matrix. A lot of philosophical and religious interpretations. Even some posters here see our own existence as some kind of "matrix," so it seems to have influenced how people perceive things about their own existence. The symbolism of "the red pill" has also found a certain following, although it doesn't seem to be the same thing as in the movie.

I didn't really pick up on the idea of Switch being trans in the movie, although I read about it some time afterwards. They never really explained much in the movie about the Residual Self Image and how it actually works. I remember when Morpheus said "the body can not live without the mind," as the mind somehow leaves the brain and exists in some computer simulation, represented by one's RSI. And the mind can't get back to its own brain unless it can find a payphone or some other hardline they can use.

That would be worth seeing.:joycat:

Thats because Wanker *****es took it out. The character was written to be trans and be played by a male actor in the real world and a female actor in the Matrix.
But, considering just a few years prior to that Ellen and South Park were shaking up things saying its ok to be gay, and this was a character who was trans.

For some reason I kept thinking that's a remake of this older movie that looks basically interchangeable with this one. I forget the title of this movie though, something I haven't watched in about 20 years, though I recognize the title when I see it.
(The African Queen)

I remember the Jungle Cruise when I went to Disneyland. They also made a movie about the Pirates of the Caribbean, another popular Disney ride. So, maybe they thought they'd cash in on the Jungle Cruise, but it would appear not.

Maybe they would have had better luck making a movie about the Enchanted Tiki Room. Or the Country Bear Jamboree.

Rules have exceptions but exceptions are not the rule.
Is it even a rule?
Most movies aren't that good. Let's say that out of 100
original movies, 2 are good. This yields a 2% chance of
any movie being good. Remakes could indeed have
this same 2% chance.

Just a few remakes better than predecessors....
Maltese Falcon (1941)
Scarface (1983)
Casino Royale (2006)
Lord Of The Rings (2001-2003)
The Departed (2006)
The Fly (1986)
Little Shop Of Horrors (1986)

Speaking of Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson also made King Kong better.

I have realized, the Eurythmic's Sweet Dreams is now older than Bill Haley's Rock around the Clock was when I was born. I Ran (So Far Away) is older now than Rockin' Robin was when I was born. Iron Maiden's Flight of Icarus is as old today as Johnny B. Goode was when I was born.
