No, but I know a few...... that count
I just wondered how many folks actually have had experiences with a psychiatrist. As part of a work injury claim and treatment the medical doctor who treated me sent me for rehab and seeing a psychologist and later a psychiatrist was part of the treatment or evaluation is probably a better explanation for the app'ts .

It was a very boring experience .

I have an MA in psychology and thought I was going to be a marriage & family counselor. That was not to be. But in the course of my non-traditional classes, I visited an adolescent treatment ward in a state hospital, sat in group therapy sessions, had individual and marriage counseling and so forth.

I did not find it boring. And in one training session on guided imagery I volunteered to be guided. I wound up facing my deep fear of going insane. That session is still strongly with me today. It was the opposite of boring. The therapist trainers guiding the session were concerned about my state and gave me a card in case the feelings became overwhelming.

I probably would not find what you describe to be boring. What I found boring was answering questions and when I asked any question of the psychiatrist he would just smile and continue writing in a note book. I believe all he was doing was making an evaluation of a patient and was not being paid to benefit my health as much as providing information for the insurance company who would be responsible to pay a claim my employer was being sued for. I did not request the appointments with the psychologist or psychiatrist ,these app't are just some of the bases you have to tag in a insurance claim.

I have never seen that entire movie. And If memory servers, it has David Bowie as the lead, is that right?
And Candy Clark. They had her play someone kind of clueless and codependent but open and loving. I was starting to get the opinion that the theme of the film was "Nude is natural." I think David Bowie just wanted to be in a porn flick and then stapled together a plot around that.

"I know. We'll say he's an alien and a genius."

It was an observation among those studying psychology that a certain number went into the field because of their own issues.
Of course, psychiatrists are quite different from
psychologists, the former being physicians.
I encountered a range of personalities.

My daughter while at university took part in a study of infants and what they were attracted to; the purpose of the study required babies as young as they could enlist to find out if there were patterns that were identifiable in new born babies before they would be taught or influenced by their parents. I would have loved to wrestle with those little fatties trying to get them to cooperate. Menacing babies, puppies and kittens beware!

And cats are clearly evil
Nah. I have one who sleeps too much, amd so hard she's prone to rolling off things. The other just makes herself look cute before she starts meowing for attention.
But I had a cat who was an apex predator in her environment, she patrolled the area (my yard and surrounding fields) from the roof of my house, tormented (not played) with her prey, and she killed the Easter Bunny and brought his corpse to my back door one Easter morning.
