Buying fresh while on the road isn't an option.Any decent baguette is uneatable after 24 hours.
Probably because the boulangers here don't use preservatives.
And there are too many boulangère (bakers) here to even bother taking bread with you when traveling, just buy fresh.

a week if kept in a plastic bag.
Try buying bread on the PA Turnpike.Of course its an option, see a bakers, take foot off go pedal and place it on the stop pedal... Park up neatly and pop into the shop to buy your bread.

The autoroutes have aires (service areas) every 30 or so km. Fresh bread is usually available at those.

But I prefer the convenience of traveling
without needing to search for things that
I can easily bring.
Perhaps the French just don't know the
