I caught the end thanks to your post. I don't know why, but I did not want to see France win on penalties. My apologies if you were backing France.

I was backing France but it's only a game. I wouldn't usually follow football (any ball sports really) but i wanted to watch it in case France won. That way I'd know what was happening at the nationwide party.

Holiday travel to hit roadblock as large storm looms ahead of Christmas - UPI.com

Holiday-travel-to-hit-roadblock-as-large-storm-looms-ahead-of-Christmas.jpg

Dec. 18 (UPI) -- AccuWeather meteorologists say the chances are increasing for a major storm with snow, rain, strong winds and plummeting temperatures to occur in the days before Christmas over the central and eastern United States.

The massive system will coincide with an outbreak of Arctic air that will send temperatures to bone-chilling levels through the holiday weekend and could be one of the most intense and prolonged periods of frigid air in decades during Christmastime.

Where I'm at, it'll be in the 60s and clear all week through Christmas.

Christmas here in Everett is typical. A huge temperature range from a low of 46 degrees to a high of 48 degrees, that is from 8 to 9 Celsius. With a 60% chance of rain and no sign of that odd yellow thing in the sky that we may not see until April.

This is for @Wu Wei

The word "bear" in many languages in europe (including English) just means "brown thing". There used to be a proper name for bear, but it was taboo because saying it was believed to summon a bear, who would then kill everyone. It was so taboo it was eventually forgotten and the euphamism (brown thing) became the name.

Ancient people were scared pissless by bears.

The Arctic draws its root from arctus, greek for bear. So its the "land of bears"

The Antarctic is thus, "the land without bears"

Before he waa @Wu Wei, before he was Ursus Circus, he was a deranged boogeyman known as Boogie Woogie Wu. That's how he wound up in a Russian circus, a punishment for his crimes.
