Free AI art comes with that haze, but you can pay for more detail. I actually had the AI make over 10 pictures and picked one that was usable. The results were very random, and my instruction was never taken quite as I intended. If I had asked specifically for the picture you see, I would have gotten something else.I keep trying to reply @Brickjectivity's Buddhist cat.
I've noticed AI art often has this hazy look to it. It's like it has its own style or making a different finish that seems between gloss and matte.
Another possible route: Possibly what you could do is start with a low quality picture you like, pop that into the AI store and pay $$ for it to interpolate a higher quality image. I haven't tried it. The free AI art is more like a proof than a printable, usable image.
