I think I have the last bug fixed in the powershell script. ChatGPT did not fix it but a bit of searching found that to suppress a newline in a script you have to escape the backtick with a backtick: `` So it is ready to send to a couple of people before doing the first big test.

They offered to let me work but did not ask me to work. I thought that was pretty decent. I thought this boss was not at all pushy, and I strongly considered doing it except that being new at my job I was concerned about doing my job right without more training. Sometimes if I seem to have talent a new boss will start getting ideas about me being able to learn on the fly, and its usually not a good idea. Usually.

One time though a boss did ask for volunteers to start before training was over. I accepted, and it benefited me the entire time I was there. I was a hero to the boss. Some bosses really appreciate a savior. Some don't. Nobody gets punished though for skipping part of training -- except that it makes the work very confusing sometimes. When its detail work or very persnickety you can't skimp on your training.

Just got a text. I'm expected to go back to work Tuesday. Doctors note says next month. My shoulder is still a meat grinder.

I just realized I've never seen a word describing a phobia I have. It's a gnarly anxiety and fear that sets in when someone, especially a stranger, is being nice to me.

This is the one true and everlasting way to celebrate Saturday violence:

And for the musically inclined
I dedicate this next song to you, who some time ago posted a picture with villian balloon parade floats featuring nit only the Sith who made me into polearm and staff fighter I am, but also Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, which got me missing all my Juggalo and Juggalette friends and got me listening to and into ICP like never before.

I just got done with a multi-day wrestling match with ChatGPT to create a Windows powershell script so asked it your word question:

The fear or anxiety someone experiences when others, especially strangers, are nice to them could be related to philanthrophobia or sycophantophobia, although these terms aren't widely used.
  • Philanthrophobia refers to a fear of kindness or love.
  • Sycophantophobia is an aversion to flattery or insincere praise, which could overlap with anxiety about others being nice.
More broadly, this could stem from social anxiety or a form of trust issues, where kindness from others feels unsettling or even threatening.

By the way, ChatGPT writes code like a beginner who has trouble with instructions. I asked for a list of shares and it gave me a different list of permissions. It also repeated errors, created scripts that bombed. Some was my fault for lack of rigorous specificity but others are clearly because ChatGPT is not ready to replace computer programmers yet though it saved me days of reading documentation so does have a use.

At this point I'd rather work for the boss who was always and constantly lying. I may see some of the really big targets here and start thinking I'd kill him and then resurrect him to ask where he put the wifi gateway thingies and kill him again, but he let me do my job, even let me get ahead. All the baggage he came with it is worth it to actually get the recognition I deserve (I secured that position at a Target and finishing all the computer stuff a few hours quicker than those doing it before me).
