Something about 1984 that's been bugging me. We're told Eastasai and Eurasia are basically about the same as Oceania, but we're also told Newspeak is the only language that gets smaller each year.
To me that makes it seem Ingsoc may be more extreme, but we can't really trust the Inner Party. So what's really going on?
