Why people here like setting off fireworks that sound like explosions, when we live in a country where we do get explosions from time to time, is beyond me.

I guess they just like hearing things go boom. At close to midnight.

Sometimes, when I'm really gassy, I pretend my butt is trying to talk to me, but doesn't speak English:

Pfffftttt

You need directs to the bus station?

Brrraaapppp!

Oh, the airport! Three blocks that way, take the shuttle.

Twwweeeeeeettttt!

You're welcome.

You Know You're A Mommy or Daddy When:
1. You sing Sesame Street and Barney songs while cleaning the house.
2. You know all the words to the theme songs to Sponge Bob Sqarepants and Fairly Odd Parents.
3. You go potty instead of going to the bathroom.
4. Your idea of rest is during the afternoon nap.
5. When your shower only lasts 3 minutes while you're listening for bangs and booms.

(My kids are teenagers now, so this is from memory).

Number 5 rings so true. And what is an afternoon nap? My kids will not do that. :(

My favorite yoga teacher moved interstate 3 months ago and I stopped going to classes (usually about three 90 minute classes per week). I decided to be very disciplined and establish regular home practice after being trained for 4 years, but still relying on attending classes.

The short version is - I stopped doing yoga and now I feel like rubbish. I had forgotten just how bad high cortisol levels feel. No wonder so many people are looking for religious help ! They don't know what cortisol is, or how to reduce it. I get it now. Back to classes starting Tuesday.

The Rubik's Cube I got a while back has never been solved even once by me; I have been procrastinating from seriously giving it a shot so far.

I should eventually get around to it, though.

I've worn down several of those. I use to use them when I worked at APAC and would get bored with the repetition of the phone calls. I had someone time me once and I think my best time solving one was just under 2 minutes. I mainly used them for being fidgety. I'd want something I could do with my hands that I didn't have to put much thought into.

Not being able to work out at all due to nerve entrapment at the elbow is very, very frustrating. It's making me feel utterly helpless (or useless... maybe both).

I suppose things could be worse, though. I could be a turtle, for example — or even worse, a snail. :p

I have decided that I will no longer use transitional material. Subject changes will no longer be subtle. My feet are sweaty.

You can tell if a flea crapped in your sink.
The little speck will dissolve into red blood.

We're halfway thru July already.
Is it snowing yet in Albertistan (in Cankuckistan)?
