Walter Cronkite was once called "the most trusted man in America."

And now...

Well, look at us now.

Juan Ramon de la Fuente, selected to be Sheinbaum's foreign minister, explained that it is "standard protocol" to invite the leaders of all countries with which Mexico has diplomatic relations to the inauguration.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky received an invitation as well.

Putin congratulated Sheinbaum on her victory in June, referring to Mexico as Russia's "historically friendly partner" in Latin America.

Sheinbaum, poised to become Mexico's first female president, won a historic victory in the general election on June 2 and will commence her six-year term in October.

It didn't say if Putin was going to attend the inauguration.

UK police commissioner threatens to extradite, jail US citizens over online posts: 'We'll come after you'

One key aspect that makes this apparent crackdown on social media particularly shocking to critics is that the British government is threatening to extradite American citizens from the U.S. to be jailed in the U.K. for violating their rules about political speech online.

Elon Musk has made headlines for criticizing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's response to the riots over the past week, suggesting the U.K. is headed toward "civil war."

He also responded to a video of someone allegedly arrested for offensive online comments with a question, "Is this Britain or the Soviet Union?"

Starmer’s spokesperson said there was "no justification" for Musk’s comments, adding that social media companies "can and should be doing" more to combat misinformation, the BBC reported. He added that such companies "have a responsibility" to stop the spread of criminal activity and limit misinformation.

Well, this is certainly something. I can't imagine Britain getting very far in extraditing anyone from the U.S. over free speech violations. We had a dispute like this before. In fact, we're approaching the 250th anniversary of that event.

Honestly...
I am fed up with the false promises these lounge-loving leftists make.
The Left has always promised and people have always fell for that.
Because it's a bankers' Left.
The banking élites are very good at promising and duping people.

You might benefit from remembering this is a humor thread not one in politics.

Right... :)
But it is pretty funny that in America Russians are the boogeyman, whereas in my country it is the banking élites. And Freemasonry.
I think laughing at each other's paranoia is nice.

I came across this video of some guy saying that you can't fight fire with water. I think he was trying to make a statement about gun control, but perhaps used the wrong metaphor.

The Random, Meaningless Political post thread appears to be getting rather meaningful and targeted, well on its way to being just another political war zone... but this time with Memes......

I think I shall avoid it for the most part for a few months

This was said mockingly but take it out of context and ignore that detail as is so common then it's wonderful praise.

“She’s (Harris is) so good-looking, she’s so smart, she’s so wealthy, she’s so funny, she’s close to her mom, she goes on really cool vacations, she’ll never break your heart,”
