It seemed like it was about the reasons people have abortion. Since that's, you know, the title of the thread.

Your anecdotes are not helpful to that, or any large-scale question.



Abortions are reduced by reducing unwanted pregnancies.

That starts with:

Contraception. Which of course includes comprehensive sex education from teen years. But of course, conservatives are quite against that.

And on a more broad scale, it means creating an economy where people feel financially able to care for children. That's a more complex issue.

My point was that Italians and Spanish have lots of sex, much more than Americans.
But there is much more sex education. There are mothers here who kinda initiate their teenage daughters to take the pill.
People are much more disinhibited, when it comes to sex, and so prevention is total.

I have not seen you present any statistics that show how much sex anyone has, let alone that Italians have more sex than Americans.

Considering how almost nobody talked about sex here, I seriously doubt any American would participate to a survey about their own sex life. In detail. With all due respect, of course. I do respect people's sense of modesty.

But Italians do answer surveys about sex. I have read tons of them.

One can talk about contraception.
We are not speaking about vulgar stuff. It's about how Americans use contraception. It's for educational purpose.
It's the same sex education they teach in school.

Should find ethnic demographic data, as well. The only places I see abortion services being advertised is in poorer inner city areas and I believe black women have the highest abortion rates. Really smacks of eugenics, honestly.

According to this pie chart, the nearly totality women have abortions because of unwanted pregnancy.
That is, they were not able to avoid the pregnancy through the countless, innumerable contraception methods and got pregnant.

I wonder why. I want to investigate Americans' sex life to understand why the abortion rate is so big.
I am wondering what the reasons are. Options:
A) American women don't take the pill or don't take it as regularly as European women
B) American women have frequent sex without any kind of contraception
C) US pharmaceuticals don't work. They are not as effective as the German ones, for example
D) American women are so fertile that hormonal pills are ineffective
E) American men are so fertile that contraception methods are ineffective


I am noting that the unwanted pregnancy rate also varies a lot, according to the wealth of the country.
But I see that there's something that doesn't add up between the unwanted pregnancies rate and the abortion rate in high income countries.

Conservatives have fought against there being universal healthcare, so the many poor citizens, including college students, can't afford healthcare so have a hard time getting the pill, or even the Morning After pill (which conservatives have been working to eliminate or limit access).

Which is something conservatives have been trying to get out of schools, for some odd reason. They have also been trying to get prayer back in schools, and limit teaching of evolution.

You probably need a better sex ed if you don't kniw because if you need this explained you likely have other woeful gaps in knowledge, such as the fact that while generally safe and effective no method of contraception is 100% effective (nothing in medicine is). That is a medical and scientific fact.

Absolutely not. She is against IUDs.
She has been taking the pill since she was 16, now she is my age.
I think, honestly that decades of pill basically decrease the fertility enormously.
