Of course I dont agree what is written in the bottom in each picture, no body should enforce any one what to wear in a specific area.

The point is if one doesn't understand the Quraan he has to refer to it. And the Hadith explains some verses like the toothbrush example. Quraan also repeats several times, obey God and obey the messenger. The Hadith is from the messenger. How would we obey the messenger if we don't follow the hadith.

I agree about the translation. I think it is wrongly used here and it exaggerates things. Just like many other words.

I didn't understand your point regarding mom and dad? Can you explain please?

sorry, i dont find hadith as reliable source. they are simply words of people who are pretty much like you or me and supposingly reciting the words of muhammed. study of quran and and awareness in sunnatullah in nature(logic, physics, math) is enough.

I disagree here.

Muhammad peace be upon him is a prophet and all prophets lives up the message they were here for. He used to live Quraan in every second. His wife said if you want to see the Quraan walking look at him.

The chain of narrations of hadith is the same as the chain of narrations of the Quraan. I dont belive that when it came to hadith they started lying.

They were honest in the hadith the same way they were about the Quraan.

Think about it that way, if twin sisters are walking together, one wearing Hijab the Islamic way and one showing what she is got, at which one would stir and his imagination would start drifting? Please don't tell me it is the same !
Irrelevant. Men are still responsible for their own actions.

Muslims are not stupid people who lack self control. Many men are stupid people who lack self control. Why you are giving that to muslim men only?

Because it's only in the muslim world where it's apparently necessary to conceal women to protect them from men.

Two things that irritate me about the whole women must cover up so they do not show their beauty to men:

1. Men should have to cover up so as to not show their beauty to women.

2. Women should not have to cover up because men have no self control.

Until either men cover up as well, it is nothing but blatant misogyny.

Who said they are not ?

And no not only in our world. See rape and sexual harresment stats around the world. And it is not covering up.

What you stated is what muslims are doing and not what Islam says.

Tell me where in Islam it says or hints that women can't drive. That would be interesting.

Except they're all Islamic Countries, Islam is what is enforced there.

Does it matter if it's in the Quran? Those Countries clearly show the effect of Islam.

I am not with the concept of forcing it too.

I appreciate that you aren't comfortable with the idea of forcing such attire and equally appreciate that we have that in common.

I think you missed the point that I was making through my questioning.

I understand modesty and can understand the Muslim's personal obligation to dress a particular way for modesty. What I don't agree with is that this is necessary for the purpose of diverting desire.

If such is true about Islam, it's not illogical for me to conclude that perhaps Muslims are incapable of diverting their mind from temptation. If I were a Muslim woman, it should matter not whether I'm dressed in a burqa or not. A man should not be sexually objectifying me anyway. If a man happens to appreciate what he's looking at and identifies such a thought as being sinful, he should be able to adjust his thoughts immediately and move on with this day.

I accept such attire for the purpose of projecting modesty. I do not accept that it should be necessary for men and women to avoid the projection of temptation. That's ridiculous and suggests an imbedded weakness of character and self-control.

Yeah, because Muslim women never look attractive while wearing hijabs!

Etc, etc! Even Somali women dressing in the style that I posted earlier can still look attractive because their beautiful face shows. I actually saw a beautiful young Somali women when I was at the hospital today and she was completely covered in the style I posted earlier.

So, really, the whole idea that a Muslim women wearing hijab or even covering her body isn't going to look sexually attractive is a bunch of bs. Also, psychology has shown that sexual repression such as hiding the body out of fear of sexuality results in sexually broken, immature and perverted people. Christian cultures are dealing with the fallout of centuries of our sexual repression, which is still going on in many places. Victorian society also had very twisted, repressed views of sexuality and places like America have a very screwed up society in this regard because of our history of unhealthy sex shaming. We have a very puritanical mindset. The explosion of porn and the sex industry in general is a symptom of that.

Again there is a dress code for men and they should cover what should be covered.

And this is not the only reason why muslim women wear Hijab. It is also to protect them because women are precious. Besides it is purer for her heart so she won't get carried away behind her emotions and desires.

Allah doesn't only ask you to keep the commandments. He also gives you a way in doing so

I strongly disagree.

Do you know that Christianity for example eating Pork is not permitted. Show me where that is applicable.

I am only giving an example.

I appreciate your response again.

Let me again say as I said at the start of this discussion in my first comment on the subject on Hijab, I said I may not be showing the real reason as I am not a scholar.

I am just saying what I see.

My point was that men are men whether they are muslims or not. So still muslim men have desires because they are still simply men.

I am not saying that muslim men can enjoy looking at women or whatever because they have desires. No.. This is not Islamic at all.

Men are always asked to control their desires and their actions as well as women. And both of them should help each other out.

Again the meaning of Hijab doesn't mean covering the hair and showing other body parts.

I am not saying that women should look ugly.

Do you know the different reactions of the same person when he sees a woman passing by with one wearing Hijab and one not wearing Hijab?

When a hijab woman passes, they say MashAllah, how beautiful she is!

When a non hijab woman passes, they say ohh that body I just want to ....... you know the rest.

This is the attitude of men, now don't try to tell me that only muslim men are like that !!

Maybe you can tell me that western guys dont discuss this in public... But ohh their imagination would always be busy.

What parts of men should be covered?

And this is not the only reason why muslim women wear Hijab. It is also to protect them because women are precious. Besides it is purer for her heart so she won't get carried away behind her emotions and desires.

Ohh so in this case should not men be covered up so they do not rape uncovered women.

It seems that the only thing muslim women need protection from is muslim men.

If muslim men did not act like such pigs, then women would not have to have their inherent human rights taken away from them.

Why are they not held to the same standard of dress as women?

This is what God wants.

Every one should cover that part the fits the purpose of having them covered

Do you think if men's other body parts were exposed, (other than from the navel to the knee) women would be attracted to it.
