The Role of Women in establishing Peace

What does that have to do with your claim about women ?

Because the world has been ruled by force and male aggression and that has brought nothing but disaster and wars including the world wars.

Mothers know a lot about running a family and can be of great assistance in joining with men to create a family of man.

That still doesn't mean that women wouldn't promote wars.

True but there are many good women who care about our world and would try and create a family of humanity and would be pushing more for things like healthcare and education instead of wasting $trillions on weapons to destroy life.

Working together as partners men and women are complimentary and would be able to do more together than one sex alone.

Neither sex alone has been successful in bringing peace to the world. But together they might be able to.

So you think that women would make no difference to peace in a world that is dominated by male aggression and endless wars?

You don't even want to give them a chance?

Why is our male dominated world always at each other's throats unable to end the bloodshed?

Half the human race don't have a voice against male domination and aggression and already you are saying they can't male a difference even without giving them a go.

Our male dominated world has never established peace so we are unable to do it. Maybe it's time we looked to women.
There is one small problem here: anima and animus. (Anima being the female part of the male psyche, and animus being the male part of the female psyche.) If you look at one of the most ancient misgynist phenomena on the planet, that of female genital mutilation {female circumcision,} you will see that it is propagated by women.

Women in the first stages of animus development, what Jung called "the man of power," often enforce the misogynist propaganda that has been so deeply ingrained in the cultures for millennia.

The answer to solving the problem of aggression is this: human beings have to grow up. Women must develop their animus beyond the "man of power" stage and think for themselves. Likewise, men will need to develop their anima beyond the Eve stage. Men will have to find the positive aspects of their inner feminine within themselves and plug into this, just as women will have to find the positive aspects of their inner masculine within themselves and plug into this. Take care of the inner problems, and the outer problems will resolve themselves.

Some of us are.
And some are talking about the superiority of men over women in achieving peace.
To that I say....
Piffle!
Balderdash!
Barsh! flimshaw!

Baha'is believe that only women and men working jointly together in a complimentary manner can bring us a better, more prosperous and peaceful world.

The superiority of one or the other will never bring peace.

Firstly, Peace and Goodwill to all mankind during this Christmas and Holiday Season!

We Baha'is believe that it will be primarily women that will establish world peace. So we wish to emphases and promote the concept of the equality of the genders. All quotes are from the Baha'i Sacred Scriptures.

"Assuredly woman will abolish warfare among mankind."

"The woman has greater moral courage than the man; she has also special gifts which enable her to govern in moments of danger and crisis."

"The world of humanity is possessed of two wings — the male and the female. So long as these two wings are not equivalent in strength the bird will not fly. Until womankind reaches the same degree as man, until she enjoys the same arena of activity, extraordinary attainment for humanity will not be realized; humanity cannot wing its way to heights of real attainment."

"Daughters and sons must follow the same curriculum of study, thereby promoting unity of the sexes. When all mankind shall receive the same opportunity of education and the equality of men and women be realized, the foundations of war will be utterly destroyed. Without equality this will be impossible because all differences and distinction are conducive to discord and strife. Equality between men and women is conducive to the abolition of warfare for the reason that women will never be willing to sanction it. Mothers will not give their sons as sacrifices upon the battlefield after twenty years of anxiety and loving devotion in rearing them from infancy, no matter what cause they are called upon to defend. There is no doubt that when women obtain equality of rights, war will entirely cease among mankind".
Thank you for that. It is men who have told us what God has had written. It is a woman who is telling them they have it wrong.

I share the sentiment. But alas, I think it's a generalization. We just through almost electing Hillary Clinton who is one of the worse scumbags in the world. I'm not sure which is worse -- Obama's 2nd term or Hillary's any term.

The sentiment is similar to antiwar.com. I think it is a fantastic website and was started to promote anti-war activism. However, I use it to get information on war these days. See if you agree or disagree -- Antiwar.com .

I see what you mean but there will always be women and men who are corrupt yet basically most people are good.

We believe women and men have complimentary roles and can use their qualities of aggression and compassion to come up with better solutions but that means women must be partners with men in all fields not just governance.

We have not yet seen the true potential of women as women have been in the household serving mainly rather than an equally contributing member of society for so long.

With proper education and full rights, women are able to contribute greatly to our society as they place a lot of emphasis on things like health and education and the family environment and we need one day to stop our warring and become like a true human family and mothers are good at ringing families together.

The biggest cause of war IMHO is that the people who decide when to go to war are not the ones who actually fight in the war. Most of the "war hawks" in our society are those that dodged the draft when they were military age, and now, knowing that they will never have to put their own lives on the line, encourage militarism. Very few men who have actually seen combat desire to start further conflicts, at least not without a good reason.
