The Sin of Pornography

The question I am raising is whether it is lawful to film something unlawful under freedom of the press. I admit I went to extremes from cruelty to animals to murder, but the principle is the same in both extremes. Like, duh.
You messed up when you compared snuff films to dog fighting videos. Although I don't see what either of the two have to do with porn in the first place. I wonder about those who see the word "porn" and immediately start thinking about rape and murder.

My favorite porn is teenage women (18 & 19 yrs. old.) performing fellatio on a horse. I also like to see irrumatio. This isn't illegal in Ohio, but in some states, owning porn like this carries 5-8 years in prison. I don't care for rape or murder, and I don't like you associating my post with it, even if I question if it is lawful to film a criminal act. I am talking extremes.

Wikipedia defines pornography as: "...the portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal. Pornography may be presented in a variety of media, including books, magazines, postcards, photographs, sculpture, drawing, painting, animation, sound recording, film, video, and video games."

So it is in a sense an "industry" that caters to people who are desiring to be aroused sexually. Connected with that there is I believe an exploitation of young people .... Children are also at risk of being exploited by pedophiles. In some countries exploitation of children is well documented.

Again per wikipedia:

Dolf Zillmann asserts that extensive viewing of pornographic material produces many sociological effects which he characterizes as unfavorable, including a decreased respect for long-term, monogamous relationships, and an attenuated desire for procreation.[24] He claims that pornography can "potentially undermine the traditional values that favor marriage, family, and children" and that it depicts sexuality in a way which is not connected to "emotional attachment, of kindness, of caring, and especially not of continuance of the relationship, as such continuance would translate into responsibilities"[25]

Additionally, some researchers claim that pornography causes unequivocal harm to society by increasing rates of sexual assault,[24][26] a line of research which has been critiqued in "The effects of Pornography: An International Perspective" on external validity grounds,[27] while others claim there is a correlation between pornography and a decrease of sex crimes.[28][29][30]
Your choice of sources are interesting.
[24], [25], and [26] are 30 years old (1986). Too old to have any credibility. [27] is no longer available. And please note that the sources [28], [29], [30] support a correlation between pornography and a decrease of sex crimes.

If a young person's first introduction to sex is via porn, then that person could very well confuse such fantastical acts for attainable ones.

Or confuse how women are treated in porn with how they should be treated in life. I pity the poor sod who learns how to make love to a woman from typical porn flicks.

Is this in the Bible? Got a chapter and verse?

Exactly what is wrong with one's god-given desire to lust?

lust
noun
1[mass noun] Strong sexual desire: ‘he knew that his lust for her had returned’

[in singular] A passionate desire for something: ‘a lust for power’
verb
[NO OBJECT]
1 Have strong sexual desire for someone:
‘he really lusted after me in those days’

1.1 Have a strong desire for something:
‘pregnant women lusting for pickles and ice cream’

Source: Oxford English Dictionaries

.
Lusting without being betrothed first?

The issue is not whether it is a sin. The question is, is porno real sex? According to some on this thread (if not most) it isn't.
No. Whether you like it or not the question is: "Is watching porn a sin? If so, why?" Want to sell your own question, then open your own store.

In the vast majority of porn escapades women are portrayed as very willing if not eager partners.

Think it would be any worse than two virgins trying to figure what goes where?

If I recall, Ted Bundy's statement to the effect that viewing porn turned him into a psychopathic killer was made to James Dobson while he (Bundy) was on Florida's death row and seeking Dobson's help to get his death sentence commuted to life in prison. It might be a bit naive to suppose that Bundy, under the circumstances, wasn't currying favor with the anti-porn Dobson by telling Dobson exactly what Dobson wanted to believe.

Doesn't matter. Anyone who thinks the best way to **** a woman is to **** her like women are typically ****ed in a porn flick probably can't **** worth a damn, and should have his license to swing a dick revoked. It would be truly pathetic if anyone actually needed a 60 year old celibate male like me to point out to them that simple truth. God save their partners!

At least the virgins might be open-minded enough to learn something. But when you teach someone a bad approach to something -- including a bad approach to sex -- they tend to stick to what they were first taught.

Matthew 5:28
Matthew 5:28
but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

a·dul·ter·y
əˈdəlt(ə)rē/
noun
noun: adultery; plural noun: adulteries

voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse.
The verse makes no sense. How can one be condemned for committing adultery, in any way, if he's not married? It would be like condemning a person of murder because they hated someone.

Most of the heterosexual studio porn you come across, or that I come across, is really awful. The woman's pleasure is an afterthought, if it's thought of at all. I prefer trans porn or gay porn.

In another thread Trends in Pornography Viewing it was mentioned that porn is a terrible sin. So I'm curious as to what you think.

Is watching porn a sin? If so, why?

How about acting in porn, professional or amateur?

.

Yup,

Matt 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

And anyone who causes another to stumble also sins, therefore anyone involved in the porn industry sins.

Ted Bundy did feel his start in dehumanizing women was though progressive addiction to porn
and I think it's wise to keep underage people form addictive behaviors like that until they can better
weigh their choices rather than enter adulthood burdened by negative addictive behaviors.
That underage restriction enhances their ability to choose in the long run rather than diminish it.

Ted Bundy was a sociopath, and porn can't magically turn people into one.
