The Walking Dead

Yeah, it's going to get awkward when Tyrese starts to figure it all out with that girl as the psycho pre-serial killer and Carol as the one who killed his girl.

I'm sure the girl killed the two while Carol just took the blame to protect her. She might've been the one to drag the bodies out and burn them, at most.

Also, I don't care much for the 3 new characters. They're too cartoonish. The girl is dressed very unrealistically for the circumstances (unless she was at a cosplay convention when the outbreak went down), The sergeant guy seems like something out of an 80's episode of G.I. Joe, and Dr. Mullet... seriously, even if someone has never fired a gun before, they would still have enough sense to attempt to aim. Also, I predict that he's a fraud as far as the cure claims go.

On the plus side, the gal is not a voluptuary & the soldier isn't muscular, so the stereotyping isn't so extreme.
We shall see how the new characters develop, & appeal to us.

Those guys are taken directly out of the comics.

I was aware of that, but while a character concept may work very well in the context of a comic strip, alterations have to be made when adapting a character to a "serious" live action drama. Otherwise it's cheesy and unrealistic.

Even in the comics Ford was an over-the-top cartoonish, balls to the wall character compared to the others. That's what was great about him. And Eugene the "scientist"...
... everything about Eugene is a lie right now. Who he really is, what he knows about the zombies, his haircut, his radio, everything. Lie.

Nope.

"serious"

that's funny.

What is? The show tries to be as serious as a show about zombies can be.

But in the end, it's still a show about zombies based on a comic book. I didn't find the three new characters cartoonish at all (except maybe the woman - but she's only eye candy at this point anyway).

This week's episode was weak. Rather be watching Rick hide under the bed again. Hope the season starts to get a little better.

I liked it. At the beginning of the show it's like, " Yeah, they've both given up, they're toast. And even if they're not, who cares?". And then at the end you're like, "Hmmm, maybe not".

I think the writers turned that around pretty skillfully.

Not the best episode, but it fleshed out Beth and Daryl's character out a bit. The burning home representing his letting go of and moving on from his unsavory past, etc.
