It reminds me of how some people were calling countries at or near the top of freedom indices "police states" because of lockdowns during the pandemic. That included Australia, the UK, and Germany—all democracies where those who instituted the lockdowns could have been voted out of office if the majority of people had wanted them out.

Some of those comments struck me as borderline insulting to people who have lived in actual police states. They show no realistic concept of what that life is like, let alone a realization of the fact that they most likely couldn't so openly protest it if they experienced it.
Exactly that. I've not even been to those countries that are dictatorships, but I'd know things are hard for those likely me, even deadly to be a mouthy, non conforming ***** who openly curses politicians, police and other institutions of socio-political authority.

And while that is true, it is also true that several Supreme Court Justices have changed their minds on what "settled law" and "a precedent" mean, just since their confirmation hearings. As I said, what's to stop them changing their minds on Obergefell?
What is stopping any justice to change their minds on anything. You are playing a what if game.

I never said you did.
Then why claim were trying to force people into something?

It's not a what if game when the SC is throwing rights and protections out the window and one justice has said they should overturn Obergefell v Hodges (but conveniently for him no mention of Loving v Virginia).

The lie that transgender women are women and transgender men are men. A woman is an adult human female, a man is an adult human male. A transgender woman is an adult human male and a transgender man is an adult human female.
There is more to being a man or a woman than just body parts.

I am assuming that you are male. If I am wrong, just reverse the sexes. It we took your brain out of your body and transplanted it into a female one would you now think of yourself as a woman? If you are straight would you suddenly crave penis?

No... . :) That is exactly what they are requiring people to do, participate in a lie
That is only your "feelings" something that you seem to be against. The science disagrees with you.

I just asked this question, let me ask you. If we took your brain and transplanted it into a female body would you think of yourself as female? Would you crave penis?

My bets on he freaks out once he feels his boobs flapping around and has to wear a bra to keep them from flapping about and getting jolted around.

Yeah, that's just not true or going on and is nothing more libel coming from Christians who are struggling hard at that "love thy neighbor as your self" thing.

You must be an atheist.

It's unhealthy for people to invite a spirit into their life because it is more than likely a demonic spirit. Loving people includes encouraging people to avoid such things.

Have you ever considered that "demons" were just the way of a people that did not understand mental illness as an explanation for some people?

Different does not necessarily mean "wrong".

Why do Christians so frequently assume everyone with a criticism of that religion must be an atheist?
No. I'm not.

Believing in fantasies is unhealthy. And loving people doesn't mean telling them they are demonically possessed. That's how I learned, after I left the Church, that some Christians I thought were my friends just weren't, like the one who said I'm demonically possessed. No, that guy's just an intolerant *******.

After I had a seizure it became very easy to understand how people used to believe such a thing. I don't remember any of it, but from what I was told it was scary, and what I do remember once I came is that I was very frightened and totally confused. I realized a deal of time had passed as the sun was setting now (it was still bright and sunny when I lost consciousness) and I don't even know if I crawled away from this group of people near me and towards some trees because of the fear of nausea that did have me puking, and when I puked I saw bright red blood. I puked again in the ambulance, checked the bag for blood, saw none and forgot about that until a day or so later and I noticed my tongue hurt like hell.

Wow. I hope that you are fully recovered and never repeat that experience.

I did make a full recovery. And I definitely learned my lesson that if I'm going to be active all day I have to eat enough and eat more than once to keep my body going because even without blood sugar problems your blood sugar levels can still drop to seriously dangerous lows.
