I'm just curious how people here feel about theocracies. Would you prefer that your country had a state sponsored religion who's laws are structured around that religion?

I would choose theocratic, if it means that only law would be the ten commandments from the Bible.

What if they don't have a choice?

What if the rule of man requires you to do things not in line with your faith?
Or the opposite... what if the rule of man prohibits you from doing things that are required by your faith?

Yes, the 'modern-day definition' of theocracy is: rule by clergy or clergy class.
However, that is Not the theocracy (God Rule) that Jesus promoted - Daniel 2:44
There is a BIG difference.
Jesus' view was Not a human version of a god ruling over everybody.
Rather, Jesus as King of God's theocratic Kingdom is No human's version.
Jesus, also as Prince of Peace will usher in global Peace on Earth among person's of goodwill.

The detail please. What is ‘God’s theocratic Kingdom’? If it isn’t a human version then tell us in detail what it actually is.

I do not think people can truly answer this question as humanity has never had a ‘divinely guided’ government from God. All of the so called ‘theocracies’ were man made just like any other system of governance such as democracy or communism, papacy etc

Baha’u’llah claimed that He brought the Kingdom of God but it has yet to become a state religion. We do have some basic idea of the future Baha’i World Commonwealth.

I pretty much agree with your thoughts and perspective, except I think originally the nation of Israel was a theocracy in which God Himself was not silent.

In my humanist world, you could live according to those laws and I could do otherwise. In your world, I'm a criminal. I'm assuming from your comment that you're OK with that.

Humanity looking after their affairs based on the laws and morals given by God.

We can do better than that. Many already do.

Ok. So what will the punishment be for people in the country who aren't Christian and worship other gods besides Yahweh, like Hindus?

That's the first, and potentially second, commandment broken right there
