You're laughing......... at legislation which seeks to control fast-fire guns?
Nobody is blaming fast-fire guns, they simply want to increase control of them...... there will always be nasty murderous folks about..... it's just a matter of making things more difficult for them to mass-murder so quickly and easily.
A bit facetious, isn't it? Laughing at all this?

I don't do homework on Good Friday, please put in an application to me on any weekday and I might think about it.

Oh I did the math, only .001% of guns grow minds of their own and kill people. Of course... 100% of that .001% had humans behind them.

Hmm... Such complicated math.

Huh......... you know what they say, rubbish in, rubbish out.

Now just you quote that rubbish to the loved ones of the dead, killed by fast-fire guns in so many school and other shootings. They don't believe in your ideas about what is laughable, you know.

Well.... one sure-fire cure? Install a penalty: anytime there is an auto accident involving a driver and their phone?

They are prohibited from using *any* cell/portable phones for 6 months, cumulative--driving or otherwise. First offence--6 months ban. Second offence? One year. Third? Two years and so on.

Watch it fix itself...
Better still enact a law making it mandatory all phones screen lock themselves while detecting motion. That means you got to stop to use your phone.

If they cared they'd address the actual issues like their bullying and exclusivist attitudes and their ignorance of all warning signs.

Insurance companies sometimes blame victims.
Our Police Constabularies sometimes blame victims. ?????

But you're way off the point of the thread.
There have been too many mass shootings in US schools and the school-kids are now demonstrating and calling for the common-sense of gun controls, and I expect that they want much safer school environments.

They are all victims because it's getting so that they are upset and insecure about their schools, where they might expect better protection.

But since it would cost tax-dollars to protect those schools to a more reasonable standard of security some folks are showing how really careless they are about victims, and offering cheap suggestions such as gun-slinging-teachers, or buckets of stones.

It might be better for victims to be 'told-off' than to be ignored. After all, even parents tell-off their kids, hoping for their welfare?
I think a lot of kids are coached for what they say in the public light.

It's not guns themselves so let's just put that issue away. History has proven because through thewe've had guns throughout the entirety of US history.

It's actually a security problem that can be addressed with a simple remedy, just mandate metal detectors and security personnel with wands just like they do at the vast majority of airports and municipal buildings. Also start looking at the issues with students for which I think the horrors people endure through bullying is a primary cause of triggering school shootings.

It's about the only time in a person's life that I can think of where seriously assaulting a person is brushed off and ignored.

How patient you are........ !
As if you had asked a question of any real import.
Hmmm
Anybody, absolutely anybody, has the right to give support to anybody, absolutely anybody, who is striving for a safer world, country, county or for that matter a school.
I am sorry if you think I have said otherwise.
And anybody who tries to deter that, or question that as you have, is leaning towards the dark side.
Lol. I suggested your advocacy indicated you wanted legislation to pass, you then said you didn't want anything and then went on to tell me that I needed to learn the difference between want and need. You do seem confused. I am in no way saying that you do not have the right to--or even that you should not--advocate for gun regulation. Only that it demonstrates a want on your part.
Imagine that........ we'll all be calling you Darth before long... :p
Ehh, I've been called worse.
Well thankyou for that.
Your quite welcome.
Maybe some day folks will gather up and list a bunch of your paras............. The thoughts of CG.
Lol.
A % of the schoolchildren of the USA, together with their supporters, seek to introduce some common-sense legislation for controlling guns, and since the NRA has initiated nothing to reduce and deter the murders and mass murders then maybe it should lose this one.
If that is how you keep score, then I can see how you came to that conclusion. I disagree.
You didn't want to see a list of school murders and shootings for any year, or at all, I notice? Let's pick one for you, at random, and pin 'em up here for readers to see................. ummmm...... a short one, including all gun and attack crime incidents and gun accidents included........ err...... 2011.

January 5, 2011 Omaha, Nebraska 2 2 At Millard South High School, 18-year-old student, Robert Butler Jr., killed assistant principal Dr. Vicki Kaspar and wounded principal Curtis Case before opening fire at police in the front office area, causing the school nurse to be wounded by gunshot debris. Jackson had to undergo surgery three times to save his life; he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Phelps was convicted of attempted murder in August 2011, and was sentenced to thirty years in prison and five years of probation.[461]

March 31, 2011 Houston, Texas 1 5 Multiple gunmen opened fire during a powder puff football game at Worthing High School. One man, an 18-year-old former student named Tremaine De Ante’ Paul, died. Five other people were injured.[462]

So you think it should be illegal for me to use my phone while riding on a bus, or a train? Or even sitting in the passenger seat of a car?

That's part of the argument and is a valid point. However it would be a case where the bad apples tend to affect the whole Barrel. Legislative actions typically go those routes anyways today so I think people are just going to have to adjust like they used to by bringing books or newspapers.

No, they will just get some teenager to jailbreak their phone and fix it so they can use it while moving.

Schools do need to focus more upon bullying and deterring bullying, same as in the UK, but fast-fire guns are unnecessary and often used in shooting-murders.
If you care you'll address the common-sense of more gun controls.

You'll need more than that.
Billions in tax dollars need to be spent upon perimeter security and access control to the entire school premises if your going to succeed in protecting schools top a higher level of security.

With the insanely bloated budgets that many public schools have, I'm pretty sure they can fit it in.

I don't know what size of budgets your schools have, but I'll bet that they'll need a huge budget for each school for the provision of 'whole premises' perimeter security, with access-control at main entrances, and with a professional security staff at all times.

Any windows that are positioned immediately adjacent to the school perimeter would need to be secured with heavy gauge poly-carbonate or acrylic sheeting in addition to existing double glazing. Air-conditioning would be required because these windows on the perimeter cannot be opening unless the fire officer demands it. It goes on.........

Just for New York City. Not including the state.
The NYC school budget alone is 30.8 billion. They can definitely fit some metal detectors in.

Metal detectors ...... ok.
But full perimeter security and a permanent security presence could stretch the budget. Windows that face onto public areas and streets would cost a fair wedge to protect.

Just the cost of a pro-security survey for each school could cause the department's eyes to water.

The common sense of gun control is guns don't kill people. Provide one instance of a gun killing a person without any human intent, will, or action.

You wouldn't need to turn it into a prison. Just one way exits and a security office.

Wow!
A breakthrough in reality!
So we in the UK can repeal all our legislation on gun controls and import millions of guns from, say, America, and our gun deaths won't rise by a jot?
Got it!

By the way........ you don't own a gunsmith business, do you?

The little brats can go home after school, sure! :D

Security Office? I'd hate to read that a security officer was in the security office when all hell broke loose.

There would probably be a CCTV room which could double as a place for hanging kit, coats etc and keeping torches and charging radios (et al) , but security officers would need to get to work, book on, report to a school responsible-person and then start perimeter patrol etc before relieving security at the main entrance.

I know that remote exit gates for emergency egress would be needed, but who could use such gates would be a tough question.

To secure a school (whilst leaving it able to be a school) would need some serious thought.

Yup.
And shovels don’t move dirt around.

And hammers don’t hammer nails.

And phones don’t call people.

And staplers don’t staple.

And pens don’t write.

People do all those things! It’s like people figured out how to use these nifty things called tools to allow them to perform certain tasks more easily and efficiently. Kinda like how people use guns to more easily and efficiently kill lots of people!
