To believe, or not to believe....?

nopes scriptures cannot be wrong...it might be that the reader have not understood or speculate on what has been said but that's the readers fault not the scripture I think..
Why on earth would you think it impossible for the scriptures to be wrong in any of their claims?! I presume your belief on the matter has something to do with the Holy spirit, but what if the claim that the Holy Spirit guided the writing of the scriptures is wrong?

The scriptures (of which there are many from various religious traditions all claiming to be the "word of God") were written by imperfect, fallible men thousands of years ago. So, even if God is infallible, these writings certainly are not. And, if your claim is that God would have made sure that all scripture was accurate, why then do you believe that scriptures from other religious traditions are not. Your reasoning is contradictory.

Hello Guys,
Just a few thoughts on the faith in God.....
So do you agree that a person who believes in God and the one who doesn't live a different lives? I am not talking about fanatical dogmatic religious followers. Just a person who believes in supreme being/ the Creator and afterlife? Because most religions do imply the existence of afterlife.
So if we live our life believing in God and in the end we will find our that there is no afterlife, we will not care because we will cease to exist. No disappointment
But what if we live our life not believing in God (After us the deluge) and in the end we will find out that there is afterlife and you shall reap what you sow? Won't that be devastating?
So is it better to have faith then?

No more ' deluge ' according to Genesis 9:11-17

The majority of people have lived and died without knowing about Jesus.
Scripture talks about a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous - Acts of the Apostles 24:15 - and it is destruction for the wicked - Psalms 92:7

In Scripture some people are resurrected to heaven - Revelation 20:6
Whereas most people will have a resurrection back to healthy life on Earth.
So, judgement will be about what a person does ' after ' they are resurrected.
Except for those of Matthew 12:32; Hebrews 6:4-6, the Scripture at Romans 6:7 applies.
By dying we pay the price tag of sin which is: death. Not death plus.....
As there was No post-mortem penalty for Adam, there is No post-mortem penalty for anyone else.
Faith ( confidence ) in the resurrection to me shows a person's belief is Not in vain.
- 1 Corinthians 15:12-14; 1 Corinthians 15:15-17

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

Why do you all seem to understand my post wrong? I was saying that faith MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON. Not sure if a rapist can ever be a believer.

From your op:

Yes, if it turns out that that God does exist, and if murderer rapist terrorist believes in that God and at the same time they doesn't live a different lives according to that God's law/moral, they will not go to hell.

But all those good people who lives a moral life without believing in that God, they go to hell.

So why believe in that unjust God?
He doesn't deserve anyone to believe in him.
If you don't believe in him you go to hell no matter how many good deeds you have done, while those murderer rapist terrorist who believe in that God but continue to commit those crime before they die they will not go to hell because they believe that unjust God and that beautiful afterlife exist.

So if we live our life believing in God and in the end we will find our that there is no afterlife, we will not care because we will cease to exist. No disappointment

Yes, if those murderer rapist terrorist believing in that God and in the end find out that there is afterlife, they'll not reap what they sow.

However those good people who don't believe in that God, they'll reap what they sow, what had they sow you think?
They did good deeds but they still go to hell because they don't believe in that illogical unjust God.

What is good if you will end up living together with those criminal in heaven while they still continue to commit crime upon the good people and every people in heaven, as you say as long as they believe God and afterlife exist they don't reap what they sow?

That heaven is not heaven, it's just another version of hell and that God is a monster God.

Why and who would wants to believe in that monster God in hopes that they can live eternally with that monster God in that hell above the sky call heaven?

Who says that they will not go to hell? My entire message was that it is better to be a believer because:

a) you are a better person when you grow spiritually (on your way to God)
b) you will not be disappointed/regret anything you did in the end if it turns out that we DO have to reap what we sow.....

But all those good people who lives a moral life without believing in that God, they go to hell.

Why would you make such an assumption? I never even mentioned hell in my post....

Yes, if those murderer rapist terrorist believing in that God and in the end find out that there is afterlife, they'll not reap what they sow.

Why???? I never said that.

However those good people who don't believe in that God, they'll reap what they sow, what had they sow you think?

To be honest, I think that we will all reap what we sow no matter if you believe or not....but if you believe....you will be more mindful.

You would better do a better job to write your op as it indeed need clarify to know what you actually wants to means.
So do you agree that a person who believes in God and the one who doesn't live a different lives?
You mean to ask if a person believes in God but he/she doesn't live a different lives, as a result in afterlife they'll live happily ever for eternity or they're donkey or they're robot or they'll go to hell or they'll go to heaven?

Please explain what the result will be "if a person believes in God but he/she doesn't live a different lives".

Please also explain what "different lives" you refer to, different lives refer to lives of criminal or lives of good people or lives concord to God's law/moral?
Also there're many denomination or different religion branching from Abrahamic religion, among them there're quite a few which say only their version of God is the true God and those Gods may have some similar law/moral but they also usually have other different law/moral for their follower to follow (when compare from different religion or denomination, some reason because of different interpretation and version of holy book) otherwise the follower will go to hell because some say it's a natural consequences for disobey their version of God.
Please clarify which religion/denomination's version of God's law/moral you refer to.

Also in your question you say they don't live a different lives, please clarify what kind of lives they live with if they don't live a different lives.
Is it lives of criminal or lives of good people or lives concord to God's law/moral? And again which religion/denomination's version of God?

To be honest, you BELIEVE that we will reap what we sow. Which is a pretty extraordinary claim. And this belief justifies somehow other beliefs.

Unfortunately, there is so much evidence that we will reap what we sow as there is for the existence of God.

So, choosing one for justifying the other, does not seem to have enough logical warrant.

Sorry for coming into the party late.
So do you agree that a person who believes in God and the one who doesn't live a different lives?

Yes, of course. I live a separate life than Joe down the street and he from Jane. I don't feel religion is unique in that regards. I do see different morals lead people to behave in ways that reflect their morals. So Joe may believe god takes care of us and Jane feels she takes care of herself. So, they'd live according to these things. One lives on dependency and the other self-reliance.
So is it better to have faith then?

Actually, no. I was told to believe "just in case". I told my friends at the Church I didn't want to lie to myself just in case. What is that song, "I rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints." I rather stand and face god face to face and say, "hey, faith doesn't cut it." A real relationship is not just spiritual. It is physical. It is face to face. It is an interaction. Not with a book. Not with bread and wine. But actual interaction with the person you want to know.

Also, the idea of worship, putting something or someone at a higher reverence than others is totally against my morals. I don't see a god that is just and loving as potrayed in scripture, quran, et cetera because "he" puts himself at a high standard. I also don't care for basing my beliefs on books. I value tradition of old of things we do not things we read and believe.

So, I rather not lie. Go to god face to face and be happy you lived the life you were called to. Understand that god isn't special just as any other person is. We have a choice to "get to know him" and by doing so or not should not be a punishment/reward thing.

So, I rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. My life on earth is different than a believer because I don't live on punishment/reward and hierarchy. So, that answers the first question.

Those are 2 separate beliefs and there are no direct correlation between them. I am sure that we reap what we sow just because I have seen enough evidence for this law. As to the existence of God, I can't prove it.

Well, why wont'y start building your relationship with God... with no intermediaries, books or religions?

I meant that if you believe in God or afterlife, grow spiritually you behave according to your beliefs and morals, which means that your behavior might be different from that of people who do not believe in God. Different life means different choices. It was referring to live on Earth, not afterlife.

In your op this is how you write your question: So do you agree that a person who believes in God and the one who doesn't live a different lives?

Now you say that that quetion you ask, you actually means: if you believe in God or afterlife, grow spiritually you behave according to your beliefs and morals, which means that your behavior might be different from that of people who do not believe in God.

I'll try to rewrite your question in what i can link between your op's question and your new explantion, here it is:
Do you agree that if a person believe in God or afterlife and they grow spiritually plus behave according to their beliefs and morals, as a result their behavior might be different from people who do not believe in God?

Is this what your question means, do i correctly understand your question?

Please don't mind i replace the question i ask you to clarify with the new question which you say correctly elaborate/interpret what your old question would means.
Do you agree that if a person believe in God or afterlife and they grow spiritually plus behave according to their beliefs and morals, as a result their behavior might be different from people who do not believe in God? I am not talking about fanatical dogmatic religious followers. Just a person who believes in supreme being/ the Creator and afterlife? Because most religions do imply the existence of afterlife.
(1) Before i can answer your question, please explain which religion/denomination's God you refer to.

(2) Is it a moral God or immoral God?
Please elaborate the specification about the moral or immoral you would want to apply to the God, otherwise i have no idea what standards of moral or immoral you would refer to.

(3) What do you mean by "they grow spiritually"?

(4) Your question include the notion that "they behave according to their beliefs and morals".
Please elaborate the specification about "their beliefs and morals" you refer to, otherwise i have no idea what beliefs/moral you're talking about.
