Too many Atheists?

The only wisdom I could hope to pass on (on these forums) is the wisdom to think for yourself.

Pretending my view is better than another persons is pointless. If I can show "you" how to think for yourself but "you" still come up with conclusion X, Y or Z, that's fine! I just want to see people believe in something they truly believe in, and not something they have no idea about.

Who is Right?
I have learned something very crucial. It sickened me to think that all religions ARE wrong. There is TRUTH in ALL religions. That is why they appeal to EVERYONE. Everyone thinks they are right,...but that is only because they have NOT sought out the deepest truth in themselves. Religion = Impurity. I told myself as a child, "Why must i go to a BAPTIST church to talk to god"?
Friends, humans a fools to follow a SET path. Humans are scared. They want to follow whatever will give them good in the end. This is wrong. They are wrong. I WAS wrong. God is everywhere. Notice i didn't say anywhere...for he is not there for only you. He is EVERYWHERE so that people may fall on his shoulder if they simply choose to do so. All religions have a price to pay. I used to be a christian...but now...i am more than i ever could have become.
Remember, god is not in church, he is everywhere,...in everyone. Religion is not the way,...only the journey to Enlightenment will show you the true way.

My beliefs are right and I'm better than everyone else. A lot better. Like the difference between a quarter pounder with cheese and a steak-and-potatoes dinner. The only wisdom I could hope to pass on here is all wisdom. Because I have it. Lucky for all of you I'm VERY generous and am willing to correct your error.

Hey everyone,
I don't understand why an Atheist would join a religious forum if they were proud and had no intentions of searching for themselves.

There are many here who are interested in wanting to understand why some believe what they believe..regardless if they don't believe it themselves. Sense this isn't a forum for proselytisation we aren't concerned about people trying to convert us nor are we interested in converting others...

I just don't see how its a good use of time to be a proud and staunch Atheist and then frequent these forums.

http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/evolution-vs-creationism/99307-proof-existance-god.html

and I quote......

"Are you aware of the theory called Intelligent Design? That doesn't quite prove that God exists, but it does give interesting evidence.

Another thing that is interesting, is how so called scientists totally dismiss it as "bad science", because it is not proven. Those sames scientists will swear by the fantasy land stuff the top physicists are saying, which is not only not proven but has no basis whatsoever. "

And you want to know why we frequent these forums.....it's because of tripe like this.....

"Just a thought".........;)

We, the wise, should form a guild or something.
The lesser folk would then have a bigger target for tossing their rotten veggies.
(I was going to say "rotten tomatoes", but I didn't want to dis your moniker.)

Will you guide us tea-drinking barbarians to the light?

Yeah. Watch it.

So in our guild, how will we identify who is better than the other guild members? I mean, it's great that we as a guild are better than everyone else, but I'm pretty sure I'd be the most correct and wise member of the guild, so I should get some kind of terrific title.

I imagine a joust....sarcasm & taunt at 50 paces.
But perhaps there might not be anything so hierarchical. We might have different & competing
houses of pious & pompous pontification, all on an equal footing (except in our own eyes, of course).
My moniker would serve as my title...since my house would be empty but for this single pariah.

I see. Maybe we can create a culture of respect toward arrogance. This way we can be better than each other, and think highly of one another for it. That way, even though everyone but me is an idiot, I will still like them if I can tell they think they're a genius.

Maltheism or Satanism? The latter is more directly and focussedly about hating God, I think.

(And by Satanism I mean actual Satan worship, not this LaVeyan poseur stuff)

I wouldn't know. I just barely understand LaVey's Satanism, much less other varieties.

Still, from what I understand, Maltheism is what you describe.

Done here.
Hey everyone,
Has anyone noticed how many Atheists there are on these forums? I feel that outnumber the spiritual / religious / whatever people by many. I don't understand why an Atheist would join a religious forum if they were proud and had no intentions of searching for themselves. I just don't see how its a good use of time to be a proud and staunch Atheist and then frequent these forums. Just a thought, what are yours?
1) Some of us are atheists and religious.

2) We don't outnumber the theists. It's just that there's a greater percentage of us here than there is in real life.

3) It used to amuse me, the first seven hundred and fifty times this came up, that so many theists think their religion ought to be inherently uninteresting to people who don't believe in it. What an odd idea. People take an interest in all kinds of things; that doesn't mean they have to sign up for all those things.

4) What the hell are you doing here? Don't you already have your faith? Are you unsure about it? Looking to proselytize? Looking to trade up? If you already believe in God, and believe you have a relationship with him, is it even possible for you to discuss it rationally?
