Transgender questions

Personally I don't think there is any such a thing as "feeling like a male" or "feeling like a female" but evidently the person I was asking does, so I was asking what does it mean to them.

Well, I won't tell you how you do it subjectively, as long as you accept that I do it differently.
So I feel like a male, because I won't wear female like clothes. My interest are more male than female, And the list goes on.
It is not black and white, but rather a continuum for several different markers in regards to the stereo types of male and female.

Juridically I can say that the trans issue or T issue is managed differently in every country.

For instance, in my country the law exclusively revolves around medicine and psychology. The State defines gender dysphoria as a medical condition where the person feels uncomfortable with the sexual-endocrine apparatus that nature provided them, so they use medicine and surgery to correct this condition. And implies a spiritual suffering, a struggle.

In the Anglo-Saxon countries, the T issue has become something exclusively related to societal customs. According to this vision gender is something defined by society according to stereotypical roles.
Back to the question of the OP: in those countries identity and sex life are completely separated.
As if what we do in bed were something that is not part of who we are.
Or something that doesn't define us.

If you want objective evidence for that, there is none. Just as there is no objective evidence, that I as a genetic and heterosexual male feel like a male.
Parents of gays often report their children, even small toddlers, gravitating to the dress, interests and behaviors typical of the opposite sex.
Gay people often report an awareness of their atypical orientation from a very early age.
MRIs and PET scans often reveal brain configurations in transgendered people typical of their opposite anatomical sex.

That's interesting...
but I think bisexuals tend to universalize their sexual preferences. Meaning that they think everyone feels the way they feel.
There are people who are exclusively attracted to just one gender (I am one of them).
And it's not a choice. It's something innate. I am very open-minded am I think bisexuality is cool, but I am attracted to men exclusively. Biological men. And there's nothing that could change my preferences.
I see bisexuality more as wide spectrum orientation than a distinct orientation in itself.

The focus of one's sexual orientation varies widely. some people find only very specific types attractive, in others there's a wider range of attraction. In some, the continuum of attraction has expanded to include even members of their own anatomical sex.

There's also sexual drive to consider. Increased drive can increase the spectrum of interest. If the drive is strong enough even normally unattractive individuals may be seen as sexual interests, as sexual behavior in prisons illustrates.

Sexual behavior is an interplay of orientation, drive and environment/availability.

It's a very correct analysis.
Chemistry has lots to do with that.
We are all different chemically. So we have all different preferences.
An example: lots of women dream of Brad Pitt. I prefer Sean Astin. Much better than Pitt.

Yeah, but if you nitpick that it is inferred. Some people don't accept that we can map what is subjective in the mind and claim it is now objective in a brain scan.
But we get into what is really weird, namely that objective have several definitions and in at least one case what is objective, is subjective in another.

So I tend to keep it on what is felt first person. But yes, the brain give rise to the subjective and even in some cases the brain is subjective, yet physical, biological and all that.

I know one person who is ftm and 2 people who are mtf. The ftm guy dates women, one of the mtf women dates men, and the other one dates both but is currently with a man. I wonder if there's a widescale study for patterns in sexual orientation and trans gender identity? Would be an interesting read, if nothing else

I'm known to post what some see as controversial things.... But inquiring minds want to know.
If you want others to understand, then be ready to tolerate questions.

If a person fully transitions, MtF, do they seek a male or female partner?

If a person doesn't fully transition, MtF, do they seek a male or female partner?

If a person fully transitions, FtM, do they seek a male or female partner?

If a person doesn't fully transition, FtM for do they seek a male or female partner?
In the case of my BFF growing up, as male undergoing pre-transition therapy he was encouraged to explore relationships with other men [edited to add: she nixed that idea because as she said, she wasn't gay,]. Given that this was in the late 1970s that may have been born of ignorance on the part of the therapists and doctors, or maybe it was indeed part of the eligibility criteria for transitioning. I don't want to "call out" the person here who would probably know best, but he knows who he is. ;) After transitioning, afaik because we lost contact, what I did come to know is that she never had any relationships. During our childhood and teens she never expressed any interest in either sex. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say she was possibly a true asexual.

In the Anglo-Saxon countries
What are these "Anglo-Saxon" countries. The English largelt and mostly aren't Anglo-Saxon themselves (though historically they thought so). America is probably more Germanic though it's a mixed bag of ethnicity (especially Latinos). Canada has a deal of French in it. Australia? According to Wiki it's 33% English. Mercia, Wessex, Kent, Northumbria, these kingdoms no longer exists, the Germanic tribes who arrived after the Romans interbred with the Celts (there were also Frisians and Jutes, amd of course the Norse who later arrived and carved out their mark).
So, what is am Anglo-Saxon country ifnnot the rally call of the delluded amd ethnic supremacists?

There is this prejudice that says that bisexuals are very, very secretive about their sexuality.
It often deals with heterosexuals who have a secret life as homosexuals.
I mean that could very well be.
Bicuriosoty (not to be confused with straight up bisexuality) is supposedly an inherent human trait born from evolution. As is my understanding. But again, I’m not an expert. This is just how it was explained to me in school lol

With the social pressures to be either gay or straight and in some places prejudices against being gay altogether, I can definitely see that impacting people who are bisexual. Which is itself more of a spectrum of sexual preferences rather than simply one sexual orientation.
Okay I probably could have worded that better, but hopefully you get my meaning lol

Just a question: Has this trans person fully transitioned? I mean with genital surgery?
I’m not 100% certain, as I feel that’s frankly none of my business. But I am under the impression that a full transition has taken place. If you follow

No doubt. I haven't heard this one in awhile, but it used to be kind of common for me to hear people label bisexuals as "greedy" and insist they need to "pick a side." I even heard this from some homos.

Huh now that you mention it, I do vaguely recall that being something of a “meme” back in the day. I was probably too young at the time to really understand what people were saying, admittedly lol
But you’re right. There seemed to be something of a backlash against bisexuality for a while

I've heard the accusations by some homosexuals that bisexuals use that label because according to society being bisexual is not as "bad" as being homosexual ... bisexuals are closer to "normal" than homosexuals, or they're "curious" but it won't last.

Been awhile since I've heard that one. Reminds me of that BS claim that trans people are really just gay but can't handle the society backlash of being gay.

Ummm... What? If being outwardly gay gets you social backlash, how is coming out trans going to make things any easier?
