I honestly think that it's just ignorance. Most people have no idea what effects cross-sex hormones have on the genitals, especially after a period of years. It's really the hormones that make up the majority of the physical part of transition, not surgery.
Hmm
Informative frubie

Yup. For the MtF, softer skin, lighter body hair, rounder face, smaller muscles, breast growth, I even noticed in my pictures and heard from others our eyes look bigger. And that's all stuff people see and alone got me more called maam and miss even wearing men's clothes. Surgery in a spot no one sees isn't going to change any of that.

If that were the case, every single culture in the world and indeed throughout history, would have the exact same cultural expressions for femininity and masculinity.
Anyone even remotely acquainted with world history would laugh at such a ridiculous notion

There’s a reason why gender is explicitly studied by the Social Sciences.

I rely on biology.
During sex, there is always a passive part (which is feminine) and an active part (which is masculine).
If there were not such a pattern, we wouldn't be such an overpopulated world...
I mean ...it means that heterosexual intercourse is extremely predominant.

That said, I totally disagree with the drift that the US is going through: in the US gender has become a social construct based upon stereotypes.
In my country gender is based upon sex and biology.

You should know that an FTM's genitals aren't the same as an estrogen-fueled female's genitals, after years and years on testosterone therapy. Some of them grow so much they can penetrate a vagina. There's a number of important changes that take place to all parts of it, including the scent and the fluids (it's more like prostate fluid). No lesbian or straight man is going to be attracted to a trans man who is years into testosterone therapy, regardless of genital surgery. Speaking from experience.

Also sometimes people's attractions just don't align with the label they put on their orientation 100% of the time. A lot of trans men started out in the lesbian community and so maybe she was comfortable with that, also that he may have more of an understanding about women.

Since I brought up the topic of lesbians here, I would like to know why heterosexual men are so obsessed with lesbians.
I will never understand that: lesbians are ciswomen who are into vagina havers (ciswomen), so they will never be interested in them.

Genital preferences do matter.

Because they're attracted to women. Simple. I don't know why you keep boiling it down to merely genitals.

Did you know that in Italy some men prefer to date the non-op transwomen, rejecting those who have had surgery?
Evidently that's because they are interested in what other women don't have.

So yes, genital preferences do matter.

As for the United States, I think there are too many people into ciswomen. So many transwomen are into ciswomen.
The exact opposite of here.

So yes, genital preferences do matter.
This is totally incoherent.

Okay first of all, biology itself has long made the distinction between sex and gender. That is the study of human biology making that distinction. Like actual biologists, genologists and actual medical personnel. Science doesn’t magically change when it travels overseas. It’s just the observance and reporting of reality. Granted the translations might be a bit wonky sometimes.

Now Gender specifically refers to the cultural expressions for what is considered and expected from the feminine and masculine “norms” our species has come up with over the centuries. This differs culture to culture and has changed dramatically over the centuries
Indeed the idea of the passive part of sex being feminine and the active part being masculine (I’m assuming you’re referring to sexual intercourse/interplay) is entirely a cultural idea. Ironically enough
One that again differs throughout history and across cultures.
(Also, I don’t think this holds up too well in BDSM communities very cleanly, if you catch my drift? Just saying lol.)
It also sounds like very outdated and long discredited psychology. Just an observation.

Biology itself also makes it clear that the distribution of sex characteristics in the human species is through bimodal means.
Basically two “main outcomes” but a spectrum of potential outcomes in between.
(Apologies for my sloppy phrasing, I’m trying to be as simple as I can.)

Also I’m pretty sure our species is only “overpopulated” in the sense that we dramatically outnumber our resources. We’re not like actually overpopulated in the sense that there’s literally too many of us. But that could be outdated data I’m working from. Apologies if that’s the case.

That said, I totally disagree with the drift that the US is going through: in the US gender has become a social construct based upon stereotypes.

I can kind of agree with you that US culture seems overly reliant on gender stereotypes. But I’m not American so I don’t know for sure.

In my country, we actually bother to listen to those who study this phenomenon for a living. And my country is dumb as dogbones lol

Gender is based on sex and biology insofar as such factors can obviously inform such expressions and identity in individuals.
That might not always line up exactly though. Much like the distribution of sex characteristics.
So sayeth actual Biology
Again such a phenomenon doesn’t magically change over borders. Science remains the same.

Not always, if I understand what you're saying.....

For example, there was a time where I had thought I split for good from my boyfriend, and I started to hit up a dating site, where I talked to a pre-OP/non-OP transgender woman and we had both talked about the deep subjects, as well as the possibility of meeting up. She was pretty feminine, but also a bit older, and when we discussed which one of us would be the dominant one (including in the bedroom) if we got together, we both agreed that it should be her.

Anyway, I'd say here in the US, it can be a bit more multidimensional than what was described in the quoted statement. Basically, the power dynamic is sometimes completely separate than the concepts of "masculinity" and "femininity", here.

Because none of makes sense and it sounds like it came from some old American prude who's overly obsessed with people's privates, the types who also think women can't orgasm. You posts sound it came from someone like that.
That's the problem.
In my country people speak of their own sex lives and nobody is ashamed of it.
Americans are very secretive about sex. It's a fact.

Again such a phenomenon doesn’t magically change over borders. Science remains the same.

Example: this situation.
In this situation we have a transwoman and a transman who conceived their kids naturally. This means that the transwoman impregnated the transman and so the transwoman is the father of the kids. And the transman is the mother.
That's biology. Either you are a mother or a father.
That's why in my country the State requires surgery so trans people can't procreate.
Because it's an error of nature. And surgery and medicine correct this error.

Otherwise the State has nothing to correct.

Where do you get your ideas about Americans from? I get the impression that you just pull things from your *** that you think sound like they support whatever cockamamie claim you're trying to make at the time.

Everything's censored. Everything's bleeped out on American TV.
You should watch some Italian TV...
Sex talk, nothing's censored, etc...etc..

The only fact is how warped and consistently wrong your views of America are.

I'm sure Dave Chapelle can fill you in with the Chappelle Show. He's an unapologetic horn dog who loves him some lesbians.
