Trends in Porn Viewing

I'm surprised "foot fetish" is less popular, considering that 1 in 4 males have one according to some sources.

I cannot stand the sounds of women screaming of rejoice when they are henceforth pleasured or dominated. Which is why I mute or add in music to make it more fun and enjoyable without the sounds.

The sounds are the best part, as long as they aren't too over the top. I think I should stop watching porn. Thoughts?

Ask yourself if it is really beneficial in your life. How is it helping you in the long run?

Actually, it's probably malevolent in the long run. Addictions impair one's ability to self moderate, be it drugs or porn.

I'm probably just wasting sexual energy. Girls seem to talk to me more when I go without porn for a few days.

Whether or not some people do not believe Porn to be addicting, I do to some extent. I have been in and out of porn before but with me I always go back into Porn due to the fact that nowadays a lot of Girls in my school aren't technically showing any interest to some guys like myself. Many of the girls at my school tend to be air heads or whatever you wanna call them. Porn in my opinion is like alcohol, at first you don't feel like you're into it but slowly you start to feel that you want to do it more than once, its very hard to get off porn. I still watch Porn even today, but I try not to let it effect my psyche over other subjects that I want to accomplish in life.

Paying money for porn is the last thing that a porn viewer will do.

I find paying money to be a sucker trap for a porn viewer such as myself in general, Unfortunately their are some good quality porn that you can find without paying or downloading but some of it is hard to access due to the fact of the categories on the Internet.

Anything that stimulates your brain's pleasure center is, by definition, addicting. I think that arousal sort of overrides one's higher thinking, to explain, one would do things while aroused that they wouldn't normally do in a mundane state. This includes watching porn. It's easy to say "I don't want to watch porn" until you become aroused. That's where the difficulty comes in.

I find it a little pathetic that people in close relationships with easy access to "release" waste their time with porn, when they could really be spending some quality time with their lover.

No, porn is not addictive. That's a lie created by anti-porn conservatives. We (Americans, anyway) live in a very sexually confused society that is of two minds about sex. On one hand, we have rampant sexual objectification of women and this is rife throughout our advertising and such. But on the other, the showing of a woman's nipple causes a national uproar (meanwhile penises, especially erect ones, are almost nowhere to be found). We are sexual beings and seek sexual satisfaction, but have a tendency to feel guilty about due to cultural messages we internalize. Masturbation, especially, is generally frowned upon by society. Masturbation is often viewed as something that lonely losers who can't find mates to "legitimately" find sexual release do. There's a lot of shaming involved here, especially for males.

Let's be honest: what is pornography? It's just images or video of humans partaking in sexual activity to arouse the viewer. It doesn't release any chemicals that aren't already there in sexual arousal in other circumstances. Porn is not a chemical. It's not like cocaine or heroin. It's normal to be sexually aroused by images of humans partaking in sexual behavior. There's nothing wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with people in relationships spending time with themselves to watch porn and/or masturbate, either. Sometimes you just want time to yourself to explore your own interests, or you may be apart from your partner or one may not be in the mood for sex.

I doubt most porn viewers are considering the link between porn and human trafficking. Or that many porn performers have been victims of human sex trafficking and have endured abuse, rape, and other forms of violence often from a very young age. It is estimated that 1-1/2 million children are currently victims of trafficking in the United States with approximately 300,000 added each year. Can any sane person can even envision boys and girls as young as 3 years old being subjected to rape by grown men? Saving our children is not a partisan issue, nor is this unilaterally a Christian matter. Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, agnostics, atheists, etc. should stand against such abuse and be willing to stop the demand for porn which increases the demand for trafficked women and children.

These children are groomed and often used in the porn industry. The typical porn performer is in his/ her late teens or early twenties, was likely sexually abused as a child, is probably addicted to drugs, transient, and economically desperate and in all likelihood, first entered the industry while still a child.

Along with their background being fraught with abuse and hardship, the typical performer is abused further in the process of making pornography. Performers are subjected to punishing sexual acts with a continuous stream of strangers, grueling schedules, unsanitary conditions, low pay, and terrible health risks.

My perspective is that porn grooms viewers to accept the idea of transactional, commercial sex by conditioning them to see others as OBJECTS, not PERSONS. Porn kills love, compassion, and justice toward men and women as individuals. I don't see anything okay about this.

I think you are making some valid points, but at the same time, I disagree with some of what you are saying. It is very true that mainstream porn (especially professional porn) removes the human aspect of the participants, reducing them to sex puppets of sorts. Regarding sex, I like the human factor, therefore I stay away from most professional porn. I also do not want to support (even metaphorically) this dehumanization.

Your first point is wrong. There is no inherent relationship between porn and sex trafficking or sexual abuse. Almost always, these are elements of the creation of child porn, which is a different entity from regular porn, especially when created in this manner. Most porn actors are consenting adults.

Porn can kill love, but not always.

What a ridiculous comparison to make. Sure there is an underworld element like anything else that can be linked up with unsavory and unscrupulous elements.

Most internet porn and depicted nudity is freelance and professional submissions by hedonistic people out of their own volition.

I don't think so. The porn industry is a form of modern day slavery and as long as the demand is there more women and children suffer through human trafficking.

"Ultimately, it is a matter of supply and demand. When there is demand, somebody will see this as a profitable opportunity and supply the goods. When there is demand for children to be used sexually, that demand will be met by ruthless traffickers.

Many pimps and traffickers use pornography to initiate their innocent victims into their new life of sexual slavery. The victims are shown pornographic films, over and over again for days at a time, so that they get hardened to accept the inevitable and learn what is expected of them."

I'm pretty sure that almost all (99.9%) of porn actors are consenting adults.
Sexual enslavement eh?

You may find this article informative:

"Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act which involves force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person involved has not attained 18 years of age. The specific forms of exploitative activity from which sex trafficking generates enormous profits are the prostitution of women and children and the filming of those acts of prostitution — i.e. pornography. This modern form of involuntary servitude involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person to perform a commercial sex act — a sex act for which anything of value is exchanged.

There are strong links between pornography and sex trafficking."

Where do you get the 99.9% statistic? Are you taking into account other factors, such as the "adults who are consenting" may be in circumstances where they feel they have no other choice or escape?
