Trump and QAnon?

It at least partially came out even before Buzz Feed:
In October 2015, before the official start of the 2016 Republican primary campaign, the founders of Fusion GPS were seeking political work and wrote an email to "a big conservative donor they knew who disliked Trump, [and] they were hired". He arranged for them to use The Washington Free Beacon, an American conservative political journalism website, for their general opposition research on several Republican presidential candidates, including Trump.[50][51] It is primarily funded by Republican donor Paul Singer.[51] The Free Beacon and Singer were "part of the conservative never-Trump movement".[52] Although Singer was a big supporter of Marco Rubio, Rubio denied any involvement in Fusion GPS's initial research and hiring.[53]...

In October 2017, the Free Beacon issued a statement:
"All of the work that Fusion GPS provided to the Free Beacon was based on public sources, and none of the work product that the Free Beacon received appears in the Steele dossier. The Free Beacon had no knowledge of or connection to the Steele dossier, did not pay for the dossier, and never had contact with, knowledge of, or provided payment for any work performed by Christopher Steele. Nor did we have any knowledge of the relationship between Fusion GPS and the Democratic National Committee, Perkins Coie, and the Clinton campaign."[53]...

The founders of Fusion GPS have described how they did not hide the fact that they were researching Trump and Russia: "Fusion and Steele tried to alert U.S. law enforcement and the news media to the material they'd uncovered ..." and their office became "something of a public reading room" for journalists seeking information. In September they arranged a private meeting between Steele and reporters from The Washington Post, The New York Times, The New Yorker, ABC News, and other outlets. The results were disappointing, as none published any stories before the election.[58]

You aren't aware that the 35 page "dossier" portion of the research was produced by Steele from June to December 2016. It was leaked by BuzzFeed News in January 2017. BuzzFeed got it from McCain's people. Steele said he was "flabbergasted" to see it in BuzzFeed.

Obviously, you either didn't read what I posted or you didn't understand it.

Which media outlet do you consider reliable?
Those that are not tied to or reflect a political party like the one you used while falsely claiming that I only use sources to the "left". Maybe look up the word "hypocrisy".

I always make sure that on anything controversial or truly important that I use multiple sources, even including those on the "right". Since I taught a poli sci course for 25 years, I've done this for many decades now.

You accused me of using FOX news which I rarely ever watch. From your replies I can tell that whatever your sources are leave you uniformed, misinformed and in a bubble. For the most part the mainstream media is populated by Left leaning so-called journalist who promote the (D)'s agenda.

Most media outlets are tied to a political agenda. They tend to overemphasize stories that aren't good for the Right and underplay or often omit things that don't look well for the Left. The Cuomo brothers are a really good example of what passes for politicians and entertainment journalism on the Left.

I guess you can just believe what you want to believe in, thus it makes not one iota of sense for me to even try and have a serious discussion with you. You use stereotyping matched with partisan sources, and then turn around and blame others. So childish.

QAnon is a fringe movement of people prone to believing conspiracies related to their particular political persuasion. It was largely dismissed early in its inception.

QAnon has been diminished due to its failed prophesies so no, it won't have any meaningful influence on politics.

While Qanon will likely continue to atrophy, the mindset that allowed it to blossom in law enforcement, military (special forces included), legislative, and church circles will not fade so fast, and that—in my view—should be of standing concern.

Really, it's a mindset of the general mistrust of politicians, educational institutions and biased media outlets that lead people to consider conspiracy. And things once derided and mocked as conspiracy and paranoia came to pass in time. As far as I'm concerned todays Leftist are just various degrees of Jessie Smollett.

Let’s not forget the roles of civics ignorance, media illiteracy, and—in the case of many professed Christians—biblical illiteracy…

For instance, if one were to say, "Satan fooled the whole world", a smug Leftist may call them "bitter clingers" or a "basket of deplorables" and ask if they heard that on Fox News???
