Trump is losing the debate acting like a raving lunatic

People had expectations of how the debate would go, and I don't think that perceptions of how the debate actually went matched them for everyone. I did expect Trump to put on a better show, but this was nothing like his debate with Biden, where all he had to do was stand there and watch Biden destroy himself.

The shoe was on the other foot in this debate. Harris tended to play rope-a-dope. She would make remarks about her vision for the future, her policies, and her goals, but she always ended by baiting Trump on some issue where he has gone off the rails in the past. That seemed to me like a planned strategy, and it worked beautifully. All she had to do was stand there and watch him blither his way into making stupid comments about killing newborns or pet-eating immigrants in Ohio. He could not get his own positions on abortion or healthcare straight. Did he think that abortions were OK up to six weeks or longer? I don't know what he was trying to claim, but he ended up with Democrats wanting to kill babies. His beautiful healthcare plan to replace Obamacare is still an unformed "concept". He still wants to deport millions of people, and he thinks that there are way more than 11 million who need to be rounded up and shipped out. They are all criminals and drug addicts or voodoo-practicing pet killers.

Trump spoke something like 5 minutes longer than Harris while she just watched him rant and rave. The moderators occasionally had to try to rein him in, but he was his usual verbal firehose when he go worked up. It is really amazing that almost half the country wants to put this blithering idiot in charge of the government again.
Got it.

Still did NOTHING to change minds or convince anyone to vote one way or the other.

The man is completely unfit for any office. He needs help. He needs to take accountability for his crimes.
He will never take accountability -- he is incapable of it. Even if convicted and sentenced to prison time, his own mind will not let him perceive it as anything but conspiracy against him.

If I were his lawyers, when it comes to sentencing I would ask to bring in expert psychologist witnesses to convince the court to send him for mandatory mental health care, rather than prison..

Tackling health care is not an easy a task. Be pretty stupid to replace it with something that isn't better. Which is why Obama care is still in place.
We could do far better, as so many other nations have already done. But the oligarchs in the U.S. will never allow it. We saw this when Obama had a super-majority of democrats in the house and senate, and when he called on them to finally reform health care, as was his campaign promise, the bribes started to fly and suddenly al those democrats just couldn't figure out how to fix anything. Even though they had a dozen models globally to pick and choose from. And in the end all they could come up with was a 20-year-old republican 'band-aid' plan that they dubbed "Obamacare" so they wouldn't have to take any responsibility for it. And even then the republicans did all they could to stop it.

And to this day we still have crappy and spotty health care in this country that costs us TWICE what all the other modern nations are paying for quality health care. Because the greedy oligarchs want it that way. And they own every politician on both sides of the isle.

One would have to be very fickle, indeed, to still be undecided at this point.
Or just low-information. Then, one has to rely on their inherent decency, which I think most people have. One must remember that Democrats have outperformed the polls in every single election since 2020. And that is those people whose sense of decency guides them when it matters most -- when their in the polling booth.

Anyone who claims to be undecided must not be making any effort to look at each candidate. Whatever they decide will be emotional and not reasoned. .

You keep forgetting the fact that for some its only about the party. Nothing else matters.
And there are some on both sides.

Last night, Trump made Biden in the first debate look good.
He really was awful, so easily baited by Harris. All she had to do was dangle one of his key obsessions before him and he took the bait and started talking gibberish.
