Trump is losing the debate acting like a raving lunatic

This is what astounds me. Conservatives are being critical of Harris on her not being qualified, or Vance claiming she made the Haitians "legal" herself by waving a magic wand, or any number of stupid and false things. All the while Trump rants incoherent lies about eating cats and dogs, and Vabce backs him up. The stadard is not equal in any sense. How Trump/Vance can be seen competent and qualified in any sense is absurd. In any other time in US history they would have been laughed off the stage long agoo. Trump was actually rejected as the republican nominee in 2012. MAGA has become a growing sickness among conservatives, and even some moderates.

If Trump/Vance manage to win the EC I have no doubt that many who voted for these clowns will regret their votes.
That is assuming they are smart enough to figure out the cause of the US becoming a pariah and the sudden rise in prices for most everything and not just finding a new Boogeyman, Must be all those professors with funny names that came from other countries that taught us all wrong, yeah, that's the ticket.

I can just see Trump declaring an emergency and sending troops in to pick fruit and vegetables before they rot.

Looks like Trump's comment about eating pets is aging well as more stuff comes out each day about the problems in Springfield, including such things as video of cats on the grill.
Is this a joke?
Kamala's reaction of disbelief and laughter demonstrates that she is out of touch.
It demonstrates that she knows a delusional claim when she sees one. Apparently, that's not a gift a lot of people possess these days ...
The fact check from the moderators demonstrates their bias against Trump. This all becomes more and more clear as time passes and we learn more about the problems in Springfield.
That's definitely the Fox News talking point about it.

But as I've mentioned already several times in this thread, Trump was only fact checked on the claims that he made that were absolutely delusional and had no bearing in reality (1. "They're eating the cats and the dogs," " Democrats are and want to kill babies after they're born" and "I won the 2020 election."). Kamala didn't make any such absurd claims and thus she wasn't fact-checked on them. She was asked though, about her "flip flopping" on several specific issues. Did you see that?
Springfield benefits greatly from the national spotlight on its immigrant related problems as it puts pressure on those in charge of Springfield to do more to help its citizens.
Springfield residents have now had to deal with death threats and bomb threats, all because two idiots made up a ridiculous story that has no basis in reality. J.D. Vance just said the other day that he "created" the story. Why do you still believe it, is what I'm wondering.

Who does that benefit, exactly?
In simple terms, Trump demonstrated that he is attentive to what's happening in the nation, whereas Kamala demonstrated that she did not take the concerns of the citizens of Springfield seriously.
Trump has demonstrated his xenophobia, once again, along with his detachment from reality. Kamala has no need to be concerned about something that he pulled out of his backside.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
It's interesting how Magas dismiss things Trump & Vance say,
but pay great heed to everything Harris & Walz say.
Hey, it's an election year. Both sides are doing it, which is why I am probably going to write in a third party candidate.

Is "both sides do it" an attempt to make them equivalent?

BTW....
I'm just saying that both sides are doing it. You can call it whataboutism if you like, I don't care. It's an election year - I expect dirty politics. and I'm seeing dirty politics.

You're "just saying" the obvious toward what end?
Equal magnitude?
Equally guilty?
No difference?

Oh, you care.
It's why you responded.

Of course.
But your "just saying" comes across with a subtext.
Reminds me of those posters who say....
"It is possible that a Haitian stole & ate someone's pet."
We know their implication.
We suspect yours.

False equivalence. Everyone changes their mind from time to time, but not quite so quickly and radically as Vance changed his opinion on Donald Trump. Like Vance, Harris ran against Joe Biden in a primary contest for the presidential nomination of her party. She was critical of Biden on a number of issues, but she was also respectful. Later on, she did modify some of her positions to bring them in line with Biden when she became his running mate. That is all fairly normal stuff in politics.

Vance was very different 4 and 8 years ago, when he opposed Donald Trump. His comparison of Trump to Hitler was made in private, but it was reported that way in the press. Vance also told his friend that Trump was a "moral disaster" But what he said in public for years was just as devastating as what he said in private, so your defense of Vance is pretty lame.

J.D. Vance once compared Trump to Hitler. Now they are running mates

I believe that Vance has since scrubbed most of his embarrassing public comments about Trump from Twitter, but CNN reporter Andy Kaczynski has preserved some of them from an archived collection.

For example, as late as 2021--just 3 years ago--Vance was still trashing Donald Trump, writing about the Access Hollywood tape in one tweet: "Fellow Christians, everyone is watching us when we apologize for this man. Lord help us."

Here's another 2021 post that should still be good for 2025, especially if Trump and Vance win the election:

"And it was the cosmopolitan conservatives like Moore and Kudlow who shamefully apologized for him...

In 4 years, I hope people remember that it was those of us who empathized with Trump's voters who fought him most aggressively.
"

Vance will definitely want to be forgetting what he said just three years ago. He went from being a Never Trumper to being an equally aggressive Ever Trumper in record time.
Just four years ago, Harris was against all fracking and for all electric autos built by 2035. Now she's changed her tune. Oh, also, will someone please ask her specifically what her plans are for the southern border and Medicare for all?

LOL I responded because you're interacting with me. Clearly I don't care what strangers online think about me.

The more crazy and dishonest Trump and Vance become, the more ardently they will be supported by the MAGAs. It really is an astonishing thing to witness. I can't help but wonder what these two would have to do to actually lose the support of this 'base'. There does not seem to be ANYTHING they could do that they couldn't just flatly deny and claim the evidence is all 'fake news', and be believed by their supporters.

Yes, that tends to happen as we get older, and have hands-on experience. :)

..but she does not denounce 'climate-change' as being real, and say "drill, baby, drill".

Something in the middle, I would hope.
Any extreme policy is doomed to failure.

So you feel comfy saying that about Harris, but not about Vance?

They make mountains out of other the side's molehills, and molehills out of their own mountains.

Maybe because Harris adjusts to reality and Vance has claimed making up stories is the way to deal with reality.
Only one of them demonstrated what is generally considered maturity.
I believe we are talking about Vance's remark about Hitler and he claimed to change his mind and thought process about Trump during Trump's presidency.

I believe we are talking about Vance's remark about Hitler and he claimed to change his mind and thought process about Trump during Trump's presidency.
...once he sensed that he could rise in power on Trump's coat tails?

After Trump took control of the Republican party, his approval
appeared necessary for anyone to succeed in it. This is a pretty
good explanation of Vance's transmogrification from Trump foe
to Trump acolyte.
