You understand me so little.

I wish you would ask yourself this question: "what happens when the most powerful nation on earth suddenly decides to replace its government with the most amateurish, comical and unprepared administration in history?"

Because that question is important! What Trump is doing will have CONSEQUENCES, and those consequences will have global importance and impact.
@Clizby Wampuscat, I wish you could see what's really happening.

Do you know how to boil the ocean? I'll tell you -- one pot at a time. Nothing you can do will boil it all at once.

Republicans, and Donald Trump, are now trying to change EVERYTHING about your nation. They're almost literally trying to boil the ocean. Nobody -- not Trump, not the writers of Project 2025, not you and certainly not me -- has any idea of what so much change, all at once, unchallenged and unquestioned, will result in. Could it be great? Maybe -- but unlikely, as with so many other human efforts. Could it be a catastrophe? Maybe -- and we've caused many of those in human history.

It's not a bad thing to take some tentative steps on a journey you've never been on before, then see how they're going and decide whether to take the next few steps. But to take all the steps at one time, without stopping to see how the trip is going, could lead you absolutely anywhere -- but almost certainly not where you were hoping to go.

It does seem the number of Trump threads have exploded since he won. It won't change anything but maybe it makes them feel better.
If Tump was taking these nominations seriously there would be fewer threads. Most of his picks are unqualified tv personalities. It invites ridicle and criticism. Look how you MAGAs don't even try to defend any of them.

Oprah is basically who created him. He was on her show for quite a few seasons.
She created him to sell crap, not be in an important government job.

Just another "let's make a thread to insult Trump" thread. Having a hard time coping?
We'll see. Trump might surprise us all

He choose Gabbard, she was a democrat before till 2023, so the Democrats can't blame her yet. And the reason she left was a good one.

So, I don't join the Trump bashing RF'ers. I give Trump (Deo volente) a chance. The Democrates also have done foolish things.

He's a qualified medical professional.
He's also a promotor of pseudoscience.
He also has shown that he has no qualms about suddenly changing his opinions and views if and when it means that he gets to earn money or votes with "another" opinion. Showing he's a man of very little honor, self-respect and dignity. It means he will choose self-enrichment over adherence to principles.

I guess that puts him in good company within the Trumpian dynasty.

You call it about making "an insult to Trump." I call it, "exposing Trump for what he is."

And no, I'm coping nicely, thank you. I don't live in a place where a whole law is being proposed to ban someone, who happens to be trans, legitimately elected from using Congressional bathrooms she identifies with. (Rep. Nancy Mace has authored a resolution that would ban trans women from women's bathrooms at the U.S. Capitol, just weeks before Rep.-elect Sarah McBride — the first openly trans person elected to Congress — is set to be sworn in.)
Yes, sanity is being brought back to washington on the gender issue.

You know he was president before right?

And this is why we voted for him. Finally someone who will address our issues. We are not going on a journey we have not gone before but a journey we were on 20+ years ago in many ways before the dems started acting on an authoritarian philosophy. We liked what Trump did in his first term and we see he learned after his first term nominations worked against us and what we wanted. We rejected the insane lies about hitler, camps etc. from the left and the media because it was BS. It may not be an easy couple of years but it is necessary and we will all be better off for it, more liberty and opportunity and a more peaceful world. Remember the dems had the presidency 12 of the last 16 years and look where we are at. Less liberty, less opportunity and a more dangerous world.

This whole American transition thing seems old to us in the UK

Within hours of the election count the previous prime minister hands in his resignation to the king who then invites the winner to form a government. The whole process of the change over takes minutes.
Even the move into downing street is orchestrated to be completed at that same time.
Most new ministerial appointments are made within a couple of days, with even junior posts settled before the week is out.

The speed and efficiency of the change over is astonishing.
Sadly the same can not be said for the performance of our governments when in parliament.

Nobody knows how well or bad he is going to do. Only time will tell.
