There was no impropriety or appearance of impropriety there except perhaps in the eyes of those who resent Trump being held accountable for his many felonies. Trump was simply caught red-handed after Cohen ratted him out and essentially told the AG where the "bodies" could be found. That's why he's testifying in the hush money trial next month. He and Mary Trump have the greatest insight into Trump's character and are the best predictors of what he will do and how he thinks, and to that that Cohen knows the facts and details of the bank and tax fraud.
Opinions to the contrary come from Trump supporters, who, as I said, have no interest in whether Trump committed crimes and object to him being prosecuted for the crimes he has committed. We expect them ALWAYS to call these indictments political, having originated with Biden to hobble Trump's chances in the 2024 election, election interference, and a witch hunt. Never mind that none of that is correct. So, opinions form that contingent have no meaning, since they would be expected whatever the facts might be.
Witch hunt? It's a felon hunt, and I think the various prosecutors getting the four Trump indictments found a few future felons, most notably Trump.
What the congressional Republicans do is witch hunting. They persecuted both Clintons (Monica, Benghazi), and now Biden with their embarrassing attempt to get Biden impeached as a favor to Trump, who is as insanely jealous of Biden as he was of Obama. That's what weaponizing the government, partisan politics, "lawfare" (vexatious litigation), and witch hunts look like. They're all smoke and no fire, or as the Texans like to say, all hat, no cattle.
But Trump will be going to prison, and justly so.
