Trump ordered to pay nearly 355 million in NY fraud case.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
It would only be lawfare if the charges were trumped up. Grand juries thought that he should be indicted, and courtroom juries will convict him. The public has seen enough evidence already to conclude guilt. This is no different than when Gotti went on trial. There was never any doubt that he was guilty, just whether the prosecutors could get a guilty verdict. The same is true for Manson and OJ Simpson.

It's also not election interference. Trump is free to run, which is why he is running. Nobody is preventing anybody who wants to vote for him from doing so. He is free to run ads. He is free to campaign personally in his free time. He will remain free to run even if he goes to prison before election day, at which time almost all of his time will be free time except for maybe a little time doing his mopping detail or working the prison kitchen.

So there is no election interference. Besides, his participation is not required for there to be a free and fair election.

Are you aware that his handlers have already begun sequestering him from the media, and that he presently has zero campaign events scheduled? Trump, the man who has victimized the country and just about everybody who has trusted him is just playing the victim card. Don't weep for him.
Well there is no question that time will tell on the matter. I'm in a wait and see mode.

Or if an AG decides they can get more money "for the people" during an election year.
Why do you make these sorts of claims? I gave you the information that you need to prove that the disgorgement was excessive. Didn't you even look at it? That is what the appeal will be based upon. Trump's guilt was so obvious that the undisputed testimony alone, that is the facts that both sides agreed to, was enough to convict him. The trial that you did not seem to follow only covered how much cheating that he did.

You need to read your whole article. You seem to be just reading the headlines or maybe only the first few lines. That can be very embarrassing. Though the article does acknowledge that some far left groups are advocating that Democrats vote for Haley that does not appear to be happening in large enough numbers to make any difference at all:

"As of October, when New Hampshire requires voters to select their party affiliation, just 3,500 people had switched their registration from Democratic to undeclared — it will take many, many more undeclared voters to cast a ballot for Haley next week to make a noticeable dent in Trump’s polling lead. It looks like Trump has found another way to raise funds:

“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible,” Trump wrote, directing his supporters to a website selling the book for $59.99.

The effort comes as Trump has faced a serious money crunch amid mounting legal bills while he fights four criminal indictments along with a series of civil charges. Trump was given a reprieve Monday when a New York appeals court agreed to hold off on collecting the more than $454 million he owes following a civil fraud judgment if he puts up $175 million within 10 days. Trump has already posted a $92 million bond in connection with defamation cases brought by the writer E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of sexual assault.

Of course, there's the King James version of the Bible, but now we have the God Bless the USA version.

I'll give your post its proper due.

And the grifter keeps on grifting. It's interesting to note there was a ruckus about this Bible back in 2021 as it promotes Christian Nationalism and production was shut down. At the time, it was NIV version but lost the manufacturing rights to use it after critics complained (a division of Harper Collins owns the rights to the NIV translation). So now it's KJV.

From a 2021 article on Slate.com:

"the message was clear. “The implication is the American founding documents were divinely inspired,” said Catherine Brekus, a professor of the history of religion in America at Harvard" Divinity School.

And Religion Unplugged.com:

The “God Bless the USA” Bible includes the full texts in the public domain of the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Pledge of Allegiance, without commentary.
“This is a toxic mix that will exacerbate the challenges to American evangelicalism, adding fuel to the Christian nationalism and anti-Muslim sentiments found in many segments of the evangelical church,” the petition by Utah-based Christian John Morehead reads.

So, no surprise Trump's running with it.

Trump authored? The Constitution, the Bible? Both?
I didn't say he authored the Bible. But signing a book, whether or not you're the author, is common practice. Sometimes the person doing the signing can be someone who is closely associated with the subject matter of the book. If Billy Graham was still alive, people might want him to sign their Bible. Or someone might want an actor to sign a book that is about a movie or TV show they were in.

You literally wrote, "Authors sign books for people all the time." So why bring up authors?

Who's signing a book they neither authored or contributed to? At least an actor is part of the movie a book is about. Where is Trump in the Constitution or the Bible?

In the Constitution, he's the president.
In the Bible, he is a proponent of Christianity.

Hmm. I don't remember reading anything in the Constitution that mentions Trump. I also don't recall ever reading anything about him in the Bible. Can you provide the amendment of the constitution that mentions him as the president, and quote the bible verse that mentions him as a proponent of Christianity?
