Trump Says He Will Invoke the Alien and Sedition Act of 1798

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Like Jan 6? If conservatives had nominated a stable person in 2016 history would be different.

Funny how the law only applies to democrats and those they represent. Fascism.
Just like the disregard the left shows against the citizenry of this country by opening the floodgates of foreigners to just come waltzing in and when you do apprehend the illegals, you just release them into the country unsupervised with just an appearance ticket?

What's being done now to this country makes January 6th look like a little tiny insect bite on the arm of the American people.

Which is legal. So what do you have a problem with, illegal entry or foreigners? I take it your feelings about this doesn't include Europeans. Or are you prejudiced against them as well?

That is the law. There was a new law that wasn't passed due to Trump sabotaging it. So your problem is the administration following the law? Is that why you like Trump, because he's a criminal and ignores laws?

Oh yeah, what exactly? Go ahead and cite the FOX news fear mongering so we can help interpret what's really happening. Seems like they got you scared to death. You're probably afraid to leave the house and mow the grass because things are so bad in America.

Thank you for showing what the problem is here and why we are over run with unvetted illegals.

Answer? The Democrats actually want that to happen and is intentional.

"Done to this country?"
It's the nativist 'Hispanic panic' that's harming the country. It reminds me of the red scares of the past, with Trump playing Joe McCarthy.

The southern border has always been porous, with Mexicans Crossing back and forth daily for work -- at least until Americans started policing the border. Then they were forced to stay where the work was.
"Gangs" of seasonal, Mexican farm workers would make the planting and harvest rounds each year throughout the country. Nobody freaked out. Nobody panicked about any gang invasion.
Today's panic is largely a political stratagem.

Not when you now have Venezuelan gangs taking over apartments, people being raped and murdered by illegals, police being kicked and punched by illegals, and of course illegals giving double birds to the public.

Of course that is just mere scare tactics to you.

Unvetted illegals are deported when caught, and the Biden administration has deported them at the same rate the that Trump administration did. This is about allowing refugees to come into the country legally under an application for asylum. Every one of those is vetted through a legal process. So they are not "illegals". Moreover, even undocumented immigrants have been shown to commit fewer crimes than native born Americans.

Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S.-born Americans, studies find

Some of the most extensive research comes from Stanford University. Economist Ran Abramitzky found that since the 1960s, immigrants are 60% less likely to be incarcerated than U.S.-born people.
There is also state level research, that shows similar results: researchers at the CATO Institute, a libertarian think tank, looked into Texas in 2019. They found that undocumented immigrants were 37.1% less likely to be convicted of a crime.
Beyond incarceration rates, research also shows that there is no correlation between undocumented people and a rise in crime. Recent investigations by The New York Times and The Marshall Project found that between 2007 and 2016, there was no link between undocumented immigrants and a rise in violent or property crime in those communities.
The reason for this gap in criminal behavior might have to do with stability and achievement. The Stanford study concludes that first-generation male immigrants traditionally do better than U.S-.born men who didn't finish high school, which is the group most likely to be incarcerated in the U.S.

I would say people like to fudge their figures.

At the end of the day , it's human nature to commit crimes , so I would say its on par if not more, considering the sheer chaos and corruption that goes on in South America.

I find that hard to believe they would suddenly "change their stripes" so to say just because they are up here now in North America.

As a consumer of rightwing news and social media, you must have a lot of experience to back up your belief.

At the end of the day , it's human nature to commit crimes , so I would say its on par if not more, considering the sheer chaos and corruption that goes on in South America.

It is also human nature to avoid committing crimes. Most of our immigrants do not come from South America, but the studies cited in my source suggest the opposite trend in immigrants that do come here. Your only reason for dismissing those studies is that you imagine the figures are "fudged" rather than real.

I find that hard to believe they would suddenly "change their stripes" so to say just because they are up here now in North America.

You find it hard to believe, because you want to cling to your prejudice against immigrants. They make great scapegoats for your criminally convicted presidential candidate. Perhaps the ones coming here are not the ones committing all the crimes back where they came from. The guy running for president in your party already has an extensive rap sheet, and he was born in New York.

Just to clarify, my prejudice isn't immigrants, but rather illegal immigrants.

I'm very prejudiced towards those who seek out to harm, break laws, and create chaos without a justified reason to do so.

Also I can't stand people who don't at least try to solve their own problems before bringing those problems alongside with themselves.

It makes me wonder how these legal immigrants are being distributed around the US. Does it proceed a town hall in each perspective community to see if they want all these people into their area at once , or is it the government that does all the inviting for the residents weither they like it or not?

I'm a legal immigrant (green card). Nobody (in government anyway) tells me where to live. I would say that there are a couple of obvious factors in play. Economic opportunity and the tendency for people with the same culture to live near each other.

Well, you mistakenly implied that they came from South America and also falsely claimed that Democrats wanted to flood the country with illegals. In fact, the dispute is over legal immigrants that come to the US as refugees at the southern border, not those caught entering the country illegally. You also said that it was human nature to commit crimes (perhaps thinking of Donald Trump?) and that the countries they came from had a lot of corruption and crime. Would not legal immigrants be human and also come from such countries?

I'm very prejudiced towards those who seek out to harm, break laws, and create chaos without a justified reason to do so.

Should that "prejudice" not also extend to domestic criminals? It is clear that you intend to vote one to be the leader of the entire country, so I guess you are not bothered by the domestic ones as much as you are by the foreign ones.

Also I can't stand people who don't at least try to solve their own problems before bringing those problems alongside with themselves.

Again, what does that have to do with just those who are from foreign countries? We have domestic criminals who bring their problems with them when they commit crimes here. The foreign ones, at least, tend to commit crimes less frequently than those born here. If they have entered the country illegally, they can be deported. If they are here legally, they are subject to the same laws as everyone else.

He said he would use it to:

"to target and dismantle every migrant criminal network operating on American soil.”

Adding the correct context of his statements that you left out.
J Edgar Hoover had similar goals and he was a monstrous ******* stuffed full of Constitutional violations and abuses.
And it's stupid because these approaches only cut off one head that grows back. You have to address the reasons for crime and target the poverty, lack of opportunities and wealth of illicit money if you want to take out gangs. In ither words, legalize drugs and prostitution and you'll strangle many gangs into extinction when you rip away their sources of income. Help people out of poverty and crime becomes less tempting when legit means and methods to better themselves are available.

You just believe any garbage you hear, if it comes from a right-wing source.

When we have solid undeniable evidence of crimes Trump has committed, you deny it, even when there have been convictions.

But spread some nonsense about brown people, you buy it without question.
