No you cut out my defense. Why be this dishonest? My defense was that there is not good evidence he said this.
Let's recap:
YOU: "He never called them "suckers and losers" The claim is on two different conversations he called then "suckers" and "losers.""
ME: "That's your defense? Instead of calling them suckers and losers on the same day, he said them on different days? I guess you think that that is a mitigating factor."
YOU: "No you cut out my defense. Why be this dishonest? My defense was that there is not good evidence he said this."
YOU: "That claim has not been verfied."
ME: "It happened. There were multiple sources, and one was John Kelly (second citation). Kelly is a patriot, and Trump is well-known as a faithless sociopath and traitor: "T
rump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed." source
"A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them,'" Kelly said of Trump. "A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family — for all Gold Star families — on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.
"
As you can see, you were a bit confused. My "That's your defense?" referred to you thinking that Trump using the words suckers and losers on separate occasions was some kind of defense of him.
And Kelly's word and knowledge of his character and Trump's character are good enough evidence for me that Trump said what others claim they heard him say. It's also consistent with his comment about his MAGA clack being basement dwellers as reported by his former press secretary Grisham:
Trump calls his supporters ‘basement dwellers’, says former press secretary
Did you know that he thinks of MAGA that carry water for him like that?
I wrote, "How disgusting that you MAGA come to the defense of that insect Trump. Why would you? Why take his side? (Rhetorical question; there is no acceptable answer to that"
I think that you're the one that needs to be watched closely. What happened to your values and judgment that you would offer apologetics for Trump? You might as well be defending Hannibal Lecter along with Trump. It's a litmus test for me and many others. Either you can't see that Trump is a pathological liar, career criminal, traitor to his country, sexual predator and stochastic terrorist or you don't mind. Either way, I would never let you house sit or dog sit for me for example. I wouldn't trust you to show good judgment.
Not justifying Trump on anything. As a group they all think rules don't apply to them. Only focusing on one person ignores the group.
I agree with the others that considered your comment deflection (diffusing focus from Trump to all politicians) and false equivalence. Trump is no ordinary politician. He's a career criminal. Other presidents such as Nixon, Reagan, and Bush II flouted the law at times, and Bill lied under oath, but this is in another class altogether. Trump is a one-man crime wave.
With Trump, it's continual criminal activity. Trump is the only president impeached twice, found to be financially liable for business and sex crimes, convicted of felonies, and indicted and awaiting trial for associated crimes that will land him in prison if Judge Merchan doesn't put him there next month for his behavior before, during, and after the trial, and I'm not talking about his campaign finance felonies now.
The Bottom line was Trump and the Gold Star families were there to honor they fallen loved one on the anniversary of their death after the botched pull out from Afghanistan by Biden and Harris.
And another Trump apologist.
No, that's not the bottom line. The bottom line was Trump's disrespect and his flouting of the law, tradition, and common decency, which I imagine he does on a daily basis. That's what makes this an issue.
It's really very dispiriting to hear from so many of you. What has happened to the right in America? (rhetorical question; conservative indoctrination media is what has left so many people either simply unable to tell right from wrong or preferring such gross immorality in their leaders).
I left this comment on another thread recently:
"
You were saying that if you were American, you'd die protesting it. I had a similar reaction to America, but I just moved out, in large part because I didn't want my fate decided by those people. That was fifteen years ago. I likened America to a business owned by two brothers with equal power to hire and spend, one responsible and well-informed, the other a fool who kept hiring managers that harmed the business and embezzled from it, and I wanted to end that relationship. I just didn't want to be dragged down by the foolish brother."
