That not correct. It was the "Southern Democrats" ("Dixiecrats") that had supported the KKK, but that was largely before the 1970's. Because of LBJ's passing of the Civil Rights Acts during the 1960's, those "Southern Democrats" left en masse for the Republican Party.

That reality is obvious if one actually knows why those who label themselves as "Southern Democrats" have gone the way of the dinosaurs. In the 1950's, for example, the South was overwhelmingly Democratic, but now the South is overwhelmingly Republican.

During the Republican primaries, a research firm called Fusion GPS was hired by The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative website, to unearth potentially damaging information about Mr. Trump. The Free Beacon — which was funded by a major donor supporting Mr. Trump’s rival for the party’s nomination, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida — told Fusion GPS to stop doing research on Mr. Trump in May 2016, as Mr. Trump was

Comey used false evidence to obtain FISA search warrants against Trump associates.

Getting a FISA isn't at all that simple, plus even the last sentence in the Nunes memo says that there was also the evidence against Papadopolos' numerous contacts with the Russians that was involved in getting the warrant.

FISA warrants are many pages long (usually around 30-50 according to a former FBI agent that I listened to last night). They are very detailed, and they are put together by the rank & file, not the heads. Getting a FISA warrant is VERY difficult, thus they do not rely on just hearsay information.

Also, the original FISA warrant was followed by three others, and each renewal requires new information for it to be enacted. By the time of at least the last two, the fact that the Russians were trying to meddle in our election and that some of Trump's staff had contact with them was known through all of our intelligence agencies.

By chance, do you get your news from Fox? I watched some of their coverage yesterday and so much of it was just pure propaganda, conveniently leaving out pertinent information. However, even the conversation between Wallace and another Fox reporter noted that there was some serious flaws with the memo, citing it to be a "Nunes thing".
