Turns out Ground Zero Mosque protesters are racists too!

Fire destroys Tenn. mosque; arson suspected - U.S. news - Crime & courts - msnbc.com

yes, a mosque was torched in Tennessee and white supremacist graffiti was left on site. Please, look up facts, then make factual claims. It will make all our lives easier.
Oh for Pete sakes, Alceste, that was 2-1/2 years ago. No doubt it is related to the Ground Zero Mosque proposal... sorry ... cultural centre.

Little Pinky did not say, oh and 2-1/2 years ago, there was a small mosque torched here in Tennessee. This is just more of the same. In the flow of the conversation it sounded like she was talking about the events from a few days ago.

Words fail me. It is near on impossible speaking to some of you. I hadn't realized that moving the goalposts had become a sport on RF.

I see it too. With plausible deniability, ambiguity of language is often used to imply more than is factual.

Or you could just accept that you must have misunderstood the reference and move on.
What is there not to accept about the fricken article, (extremely colourful ah-homenin epithet deleted by the writer)?

Is this supposed to bolster the viewpoint that Tennessee is a hotbed of anti-Islam, Anti-Muslim sentiment?

If anything, over a two and one half year period is shows that these are very isolated incidences. On top of which, there is no actual proof that the torching of the equipment was aimed at the Muslim developers. When, and if, that proof emerges we can revisit this. For all we know this was a random act of arson, committed by kids who were so loaded, they barely knew what they were doing or where they were. Likewise it could have been perpetrated by some knuckle-dragging, hate-mongering, mentally challenged Islamophobe with extremely small genitals. We don't know because we don't have all the facts. Sheeeeesh!

Irrational Rationalist. Educated Fool.
I was referring to terrorist groups and terrorist regimes such as the Taliban, not all muslims. I compared calling all the protesters racist was like calling all muslims terrorists. Then I pointed to the worst that can happen when you are yelled at by racists is you get your feelings hurt. The worst that can happen when you get attacked by terrorists is you wind up dead.

This was the comparison I was making. I never implied all muslims were terrorists.

lol, generalizations are a ***** if taken out of context. :D

The date has nothing to do with it. Ymirgf claimed it never happened at all.

My point exactly, but now he's just making fun of me and acting like he's all superior to everyone else. I don't know why we bother trying.

 You folks really are as intellectually bankrupt as it gets. Indeed. I don't know why I even bother.

YmirGF, this is much ado about nothing. Pinky lamented the destruction of an unidentified mosque in Tennessee by racists, you incorrectly took this to be a reference to some other event and (in a rather pompous tone, IMO) claimed she was completely mistaken. But she wasn't mistaken at all - she was referring to an event that you were not aware of. So, just say your mea culpas and move along.

He's lost it, IMO. The facts don't fit into the narrative that Islamic extremists are more dangerous and violent than American racists, and the only way he can see out of this predicament is to belittle those who introduce him to the facts. Tres neo-con behavior. Our idiot Prime Minister does it all the time. Must be catching.

You are truly getting beneath contempt. I'm done here.

It's your fault for letting'm get to you with their tricks & stunts.
It just encourages a feeding frenzy.
You are right, Revoltingest. I shouldn't let it bother me, but for some reason I expect a bit better from Alceste, although, of late, I am unsure why.

There have been plenty of mosque attacks here in TN. This and the recent case which was ruled as arson. Here in my town there was a mosque a couple of yrs ago that got attacked with bricks. Thankfully it wasn't anything else and nobody else was hurt.
