U.S. House approves bill banning transgender student athletes in girls sports

Yes! It’s a new issue based on a fad or trending spiritual and mental sickness. The problem didn’t exist until recently.
Referring to it as a "fad" is demeaning and disrespectful to trans people. So is calling it a "spiritual or mental sickness."
We heard the same silly claim about gay and bisexual people too, not so very long ago. I find it bizarre and lazy the way that conservatives just recycle their old talking points and just insert the newest boogeyman into them each time they rehash them.

Not always.
Intersex is a surprisingly varied category
XX Male Syndrome
Swyer Syndrome (XY but born with external female sex characteristics and some internal, even.)
Just to name a couple of scenarios off the top of my head.
For every rule there is an exception.
To quote my biology textbook from freaking high school
“It is scientifically impossible for a population of human beings to be compromised of males who are all 100 % male and females who are all 100% female.”
Basically meaning that there are all sorts of variations that can potentially occur
That is the science.

Exactly, and it is quite telling that some Christians are so willing to resort to stereotyping and judgementalism and somehow believe that's moral under the Gospel. Maybe they didn't learn Jesus' memo to "judge ye not..." and using nasty labels isn't what the Gospel condones.

Where is the example this is even happening with women? Or is it merely a concern and has no real current basis?

Transgender female runner who beat 14,000 women at London Marathon offers to give medal back

Liar Thomas sparked backlash in 2022 when the swimmer competed against and defeated biological women en route to securing an NCAA title.

OK, but I have a question for you: The national percentage here in the States that are transgender is 1.8%, so if a transgender student wants to play sports, what if there aren't others to compete against because there's so few at that school? Do we just sit them on the sideline and say "Tough shirt, kid!"?

As one who competed in sports all the way until age 55, it's for entertainment except for the very mall percent who may get into professional sports. But even there, people watching professional sports largely do it for entertainment.

Better question(IMO)..

When a transgender female beats the cis-females who practiced and trained all their lives to do their best in female sports, do we just sit all them down and say "Tough shirt, ladies!"?

You didn't answer my question.

As far as yours is concerned, at least both can participate and hopefully realize what sports is really about: entertainment. I always told my kids and grandkids: go out, play, and enjoy it.

It about competition as much as for fun.

But hey... lets do away with male/female sports. Why we are at it lets do away with class sports.
High school football, college football, semi-pro football and pro football should all be one class and play each other.

Central High School in Philadelphia should play the Philadelphia Eagles for their home coming

Break down of the story:
A transWoman sets a powerlifting record in the woman's division. Later, a huge-burley man, with a beard and all, enters the competition, identifies himself as a woman, and smashes the record by nearly 100 pounds with ease. And he did it while 100% following the rules put in place by the competition. His reason...he said to prove a point.

And "competition" for most people is "fun", which is why so many of us participate in it and/or watch it. No one paid me to participate, and I would suggest that well over 90% of the public don't get paid for it.

If you want to be a drama king or queen, that's your choice. Nor did I say nor imply that high school athletes should compete with college or professional athletes, so all you are doing is playing games yourself.

That's nothing short of idiotic as I didn't and wouldn't suggest that. What's your next low? Never mind as I have better things to do and more honest people to converse with.

Why wouldn't you suggest that? Would it not be fair?

Why the insults?

I think we all know by now transgender woman in female sports is unfair. The debates over.

No, it's not, especially since it's a form of sexual discrimination. In the 50's and 60's, most high schools didn't have any female sports, which is why Title 9 was passed.

Now, do you want to go back to that sexual discrimination as well? If not, then what do you propose with transgenders who want to play sports but there's not enough of them to form teams? Don't they matter?

Have transgender woman on mens teams. Problem solved

You know.
If you actually allowed minors to have gender treatment (puberty blockers) I think the problem would ultimately be moot. Since the individual, presumably, wouldn’t have any actual biological advantage. Given that puberty and all the inherent changes associated with it would be postponed to begin with.
Problem solved.
