..which country do you live in or support that you think has high regard for human rights?
I'll answer your reply/question with the following statement, rather than give a list of countries..
"some countries have a worse record than others".

You'd have to trawl through the last few years of UN resolutions that would have passed, if
not for Russian or US vetos, to see my point.

If Putin hadn't been expansionist, there'd be no issues.
The only problem with that, is that it is well known that Ukraine has suffered with poverty
for years, so corruption rife.
How do you know that significant money hasn't changed hands, in order to establish a govt.
intent on joining NATO?

I find it quite hypocritical, that when the Palestinians voted for Hamas, or when the Egyptian
people voted for Morsi, they must be punished by the West, but when a "pro-west"
leader is voted in, they must be supported by as much money as the west can find, in
"self-defence".

The recent BRICS conference show that this stance is beginning to back-fire. :expressionless:

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
There will not be a revolution. There will be some violence but that will quickly be put down AND prosecuted.

If he wins, which is very unlikely in my opinion, I suspect he will suffer a medical issue that will remove him from power. Or he will be otherwise rendered impotent in such a way that it will stand as a warning to Vance and anyone other republicans that may be fantasizing about becoming the U.S.'s big dictator-in-chief.

That crap is not going to be allowed to stand. One way or another.
Of course when Trump wins I'm sure the left will indeed make another attempt to remove their political opponents.

Not to worry. A few good people might die or be hurt as was the case with J6, but also like J6, some will be neutralized while revolting like Ashli Babbitt, and some will go to prison to be with Trump himself.
Nothing about US politics makes sense to a European
The right doesn't make sense to the left in America, either.

If you lived in a country with the human rights record that you promote I think you would have named it proudly.
It seems that you don't.

I think we need to sort out the countries that we live in before we point anywhere else.

Ukraine was attacked. Many countries are corrupt (including many in the west) but that doesn't justify an invasion. Joining NATO is only aggresive if you are an aggressor.

Palestine is a whole different matter. Just because the west is supporting Israel, do not assume the west's people all support Israel.

The double standards of the Left.

Something like:
We want the Gazan War to terminate today, because we don't want any more Gazans to die uselessly.
But...at the same time we want the Ukraine War to go on indefinitely because we couldn't care less if thousands of Ukrainian soldiers die...

Very coherent. Not hypocritical at all . ;)

Why is it a left policy?

A pointless game that leads nowhere.
The UN is failing primarily due to Russian and US vetoes. Ignoring that fact only
compounds the issue.

Many people seem to forget, that Russia was part of allied forces in WWII, but then we
had "the cold war" .. and what we see now is in effect a continuation.

We all KNOW that Russia invaded Ukraine .. and the assumption is that they will continue to
attack the rest of the EU/NATO etc.
It's time for diplomacy .. if Russia gives assurances to the whole world that it will not do so,
and US gives assurances it will not attack Moscow, and the borders of Ukraine are agreed upon,
we might avert escalating conflict and the deaths of millions more eastern Europeans.

I am gonna tell you that it took almost forty year for us Europeans to demolish the Berlin Wall...symbol of the division between East and West.
We will never erect another wall between West and East. Any more.

It is evident that in Washington DC they want us Europeans to fight an endless war against Russia.
We are SICK AND TIRED of this. We really are.
I'd have some words with Putin then, given that he is the one intent on provoking the West.
