Ah, beat me to it!
Yeah, I even pointed out my being ambidextrous and using my left hand is a problem not for me but other people.
I mentioned cismale is literally calling him a through and through male with his maleness not in doubt or question.
I mentioned cis-trans is rarely used outside these sort of discussions where making that discernment might be necessary to clarify things.
Themes of normies and neurodivergence brought up.
Even a real life example yesterday pointing out where I didn't drag myself into an unwanted screething monkeys, chest-beating encounter to demonstrate I dragged no one into this.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Protecting children isn't "my uneducated, laymen self knows better than researchers and care providers who deal with this!"
You sound like a Christian high on smug self assurance that scientists are being decieved and just don't know the truth the Earth is 6,000 years old and everything alive was created as-is 6,000 years ago.
Sometimes I wonder who the deceived people really are.

You're all up in arms about having to bring your own bags to the supermarket because plastic ones are being phased out. This is the Nanny State, you tell us.

But you have no problem with politicians interfering with, and legislating peoples' personal medical decisions. This is not the Nanny State, you tell us.

And that makes sense to you?

Likewise in kind.

I know how to look into the science behind it. I don't think that you have done so. That is why the mirror would have helped.

It is easy to hold to old beliefs, The Earth is Flat, The Earth is only six or seven thousand years old. There was a worldwide flood.

Just don't go checking the scientific evidence if you like those beliefs.

And just as those people will have an elementary school level of understanding of the laws of physics you appear to have an elementary school level of education in the the concept of gender.

It is not as simple as you think that it is. Remember, your personal experience is only one data point out of more than 300 million in the US alone. Your experiences count, but they do not count very much at all.

Surgery is OK if it presents a real danger.
Considering research consistently shows a very high risk of suicide detransition with a decrease in this risk after, I'd say there is a risk in doing nothing.
And, of course those on your side quote a few examples here and there, which happen, but you can never cite more widely peer reviewed studies that those who practice medicine more typically turn to for medical information.
Now, how is it you think you know better than scores of experts who have researched gender dysphoria and worked with those who have it?

Surgery is always dangerous. People need the real information on the possible risks and possible benefits to make an informed decision. Parents or guardians need that information to make informed decisions for their children.

Partisan politics rarely results in good information. And blanket statewide, or nationwide, medical diagnosis is not a good way to deal with what treatment an individual might or might not need.

That's because you're awesome. :)

I assure you it's ignorant layment who are high on self assurance and believe that, despite obviously not knowing the basics of a subject, they know better than the experts. That's why I mentioned Young Earth Creationists. You sound like one of them.
Experts conflict with each other oftentimes.

Which expert do you choose?

No. I just have my own take based on professional and lay opinions and statements, and make my own decisions without having someone else make them for me.

You happen to sound like a person directed mainly by influencers at the cost of your own.

Yes, I am influenced by solid peer-reviewed science and unashamed of it, with scientists like Einstein and Sagan having a strong influence on me.
You sound like someone with a ton in opinion about the subject but not one gram of knowledge about it.
And, yes, individual scientists do often have conflicting results. This is why we demand peer review and replicating results. This is remedial science and not even Science 101.

Oh no! I did my own research:facepalm:

I have no problem with this being having sex with someone under 18 is sex with a minor and is a crime. Under 18 is key here.

Utah becomes first state in 2023 to ban gender-affirming care for transgender minors

"The state's Republican-dominated Legislature fast-tracked the bill – which prohibits transgender surgery for those under the age of 18 and bars hormone treatments for minors who have not yet been diagnosed with gender dysphoria – two days after its session opened Jan. 17. GOP Gov. Spencer Cox signed the legislation Saturday.

So far this year, at least 10 other states have introduced bills targeting such health care access for transgender and gender-nonconforming people: Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

In 2022, at least 15 states restricted access to gender-affirming care or considered laws that would do so, according to the Williams Institute. Some of the bills carried penalties for health care providers and even families."

So what happens to intersexed people (who are sex-ambiguous at birth)?
